So Buffy fandom sucks right now. Not us, obviously, but everyone else. ;D

I know that all the drama is sucking the fannish happiness right out of some people, and that breaks my heart. I also know that it's creating a sort of vortex of negativity that threatens to devour us all.

So what I want to do--what I've been wanting to do for the last few weeks--is for all of us to take a few moments to remember things that we love. Straight-up love. Purely, perfectly, whole-heartedly. Characters, scenes, episodes, lines that we have zero complaints about because they are perfect to us. They set us flailing or sighing or crying or smiling. They bring us joy.

So I'm going to start. I'm going to list ten Things I Love that immediately come into my mind, knowing that that I'm leaving a thousand things off of this list. Read them. Take a few minutes, think of your own, make a list here in the comments of as many or as few Things You Love as you like. Read other people's thoughts and remember other Things You Love. Then pimp this out as much as you like. Send people over here to contribute to the collection so that we can create a sort of scrapbook of Things That We Absolutely Love. If you think of more Things You Love, add them to the list. Keep going as long as you want. Revel in the Love.

This is a thread of happiness. No attacking anyone else's squee. If you disagree, just ignore it. Also, if you want to list Angel things--like how awesome Lilah is or the scene where Angel and Connor sing the Jasmine song--go right ahead! Angel fandom's getting hit pretty hard right now, too.

1. Spike and Dawn arguing about who is badder in Blood Ties
2. The perfectly in-character Scooby-thoughts that Buffy hears in Earshot: Cordy thinks it and says it, Oz has an existential crisis, Willow is insecure, Xander thinks about sex
3. Buffy and Spike on the back porch in Fool for Love. THEY. SIGH. IN. SYNC.
4. Spike and Joyce in the living room in Becoming: Part II--"Have we met?"
5. The Class Protector Award in The Prom
6. Anya's speech in The Body (And in End of Days. And in Hell's Bells. QUIT MAKING ME CRY, ANYA.)
7. The rocket launcher scuffle behind Robin Wood in Him
8. Restless. All of it. (But especially Riley the Big Dumb Cowboy.)
9. The last half of Tabula Rasa, and the switch from hilarity to beautiful angst in the space of a few moments.
10. The sad, heartbroken montage at the end of Lovers Walk...that becomes Spike barreling down the road singing "My Way" on the top of his lungs

The awesome, awesome rebcake and petzipellepingo started a fascinating Spuffy-related conversation in my Dollhouse reaction post. I'm sure not all of you have read it, but I know there are some of you who would be majorly interested, so keep reading for some insights.

I'd love y'all's thought on whether or not I'm being insensitive and/or wanky--it's so hard to gauge tone on the internets! 2. redsilverchains and I have been having a blast making up fake plotlines for the hypothetical 7 seasons of Firefly right here. I feel like I want to turn this into a meme somehow and get a bunch of people in on it, but I'm not sure how to organize it. Thoughts?

Y'all, I am growing increasingly alarmed.

Way back in the day when Joss first announced he was doing a new show, I started a countdown to Jonathan M. Woodward's appearance. I love that guy. Holden, Knox, Tracey, his part in Wit--LOVE. HIM.

And Joss does, too, clearly. (He also loves killing him off, but that's a whole 'nother issue.) So I just assumed that of course he would be on Dollhouse.

BUT WE HAVE TWO EPISODES LEFT AND HE HAS YET TO MAKE AN APPEARANCE AND WHAT IF HE DOOOOESN'T.

I will be crushed.

Joss Whedon, you disappoint me.

I have actual thinky thoughts on the whole S8 thing! More than just ranting and raving! They aren’t very well informed thoughts, true, but aren’t y’all proud of me anyways? These aren’t S8 bashing-thoughts, though. I have people on my flist (*coughemmiecough*) who are big fans of S8 and who regularly feel attacked about them. So feel free to express your thoughts that they’re ridiculous, but no real bashing, and no being ugly to people who disagree with you, okay?

In the immortal words of my mama, who always shouted them after me every single time I left the house: be sweet!

And I’m kind of hesitant to talk about this, because all my information is second hand, and I feel like people will be annoyed with me for talking about something I’m not terribly informed about. So I guess here’s a warning: if you’re one of those people who will indeed be annoyed with me because I’m talking about something I have no first-hand knowledge of, don’t waste your time reading this. Okay? Okay!

But first, some thoughts on my thoughts on the comics!

Except that I do care. As I’ve been poking around reading other people’s thoughts here in our little corner of Buffy fandom, someone (I think it might have been quinara? Maybe?) summed up my thoughts completely: I don’t care about the comics. Except that I do. I don’t care about the comics themselves, but I still care (profoundly) about the characters they’re telling a story about. So when things are plugging along, neutral or positive or even mildly negative, I’m fine and I read angearia’s thoughts and move on with my life. But when they become really, really negative? Well, that’s a different story.

Which leads me to this latest reveal.

And one last thing--I'm ticked off that Joss still won't tell us Victor's real name! We know the real names for all the other Actives we really care about--Caroline, Madeleine, Priya--with the exception of Whiskey/Claire/whoever (but I'm cool with that, because I think that fits her characterization at this point), but no Victor! At that one point (you know which one I'm talking about), I really thought Topher would say it. But alas. No name for me.

Mr. Whedon, it is absolutely essential to my fic-writing abilities that you tell me what his name is. Now.

If you know my feelings about Dollhouse at all, you must have thought about how incredibly much I would be freaking out over this episode. AND YOU WOULD BE RIGHT.

Now I feel bad that my first (almost completed and still looking for a beta!) Victor/Sierra fic is so angsty. I need to write something fluffy and pretty to make up for it. And I need more icons of the two of them. Pretty ones.
