{Take the 100 Things challenge!}

Ahem.

In case you haven't noticed, lately I've been flailing trying to find things to post about. This is what happens when A) everything that's interesting about my life takes place in my own head and so isn't that fun to blog about and B) almost no one on my flist watches the same TV I am (problems!). So I'd been wanting a little structure so that I could have some sort of steady posting schedule and so that I would actually have something to write about. This challenge seemed like a great idea, but then the panic set in because: what would I possibly have to talk about that could be broken down in 100 things?

But I've finally hit upon a topic that I think I can sustain, but one that won't require every post to be long, and one that I think people will be more interested in than not. So, I will be posting:

100 Characters Who Helped Me Construct My Identity

Which sounds kind of pretentious, no? But in actuality, it will probably just be flail about how much I love Buffy Summers or Vicky Austin or Kim Na Na or something. I don't think I'll be posting more than once every couple of days, so hopefully this thing won't take over your flist. But I wanted to warn you before I actually plunged in. Hopefully we'll all do a little but of learning and growing together through this.

Y'all, help me decide if I can actually commit to [livejournal.com profile] seasonal_spuffy this round. Because last round I ended up posting nothing for the first time ever, and I am worried I will do that again this round.

Keep in mind that:

+ I haven't started my [livejournal.com profile] rarewomen entry

+ I haven't started my Het Mpreg entry, either (when is that due again?)

+ I haven't written anything fic-wise since January, and that was just comment fic for the Bechdel Ficathon. Before that the last thing (of length) I wrote was for Yuletide.

+ My mind is pretty much in my novel-place.

Uuuuugh, I don't know. Like, I love SS. I think it's helping so much to keep our fandom alive and such. And I want to participate! But I just don't know!

That said, leave some things you'd like to see in Buffy/Spike fic in the comments. Maybe something will take over my brain?

Hello, y'all! I am back from vacation (which was lovely) and in the land of the cicada infestation (I can hear them constantly, inside, even with both the AC and my fan running). I ate lots of shrimp and managed not to get burnt and read lots and lots of books and generally had quite a nice time.

So! I'm sure I missed stuff! Links in the comments to the mucho important stuff, if you please! Otherwise it might take me quite a while to wade through my flist. :D

I hope life has been treating you well since I went away. Feel free to tell me about anything and everything. I missed y'all! *smooches*

what am i going to write for [livejournal.com profile] seasonal_spuffy? am i even going to be able to write anything? i haven't written anything longer than, like, 500 words in forever, and i feel like i have completely lost all of my writing abilities. uuuuugh.

if i didn't have to be at work i would spend this day lay face-down on my bed moaning about how i never accomplish anything. which isn't even true, it's just what i feel like today. uuuuuugh.

i promise I'll be back to my regular chipper self soon--if all else fails i'll go home and watch clips of david mitchell ranting on youtube. this has been a whiny post. because what is lj but a place to be ludicrously self-indulgant, right?

And by life I mean lj. Same thing, right? Or at least the lines between the two have always been hazy. Things we know.

But seriously, I know I have been absent here other than popping in sporadically and spamming you with pics of people who will never be cast in things that will never exist outside of my brain. I'm just so very tired all the time, especially when I get home at night, that all I want to do is watch TV and reblog pictures of pretty people on tumblr. Because that's easier. It involves zero investment. All I have to do is press a button. I still love lj, I swear, but I guess I needed a bit of a break from it? Or I am lazy, one or the other. Probably the same thing.

I haven't written anything longer than three or four sentences in forever. I sit down to write and end up making lists. Mostly lists for picspams. Sometimes lists of why I love one thing or another. And I got to thinking yesterday (while other people were ranting about Valentine's Day, which I get, but it's one of those things I just can't muster up the emotional energy to hate? I really have zero feelings on it. Which kind of rocks my worldview, discovering that something exists which I have zero feelings on. But there you go) that maybe it's a good thing no relationships are on the horizon for me, because wouldn't that just take so much emotional energy? Like, how could I ever find a guy I could love more than I love British television? And fried food? And Faulkner novels? And Vienna? And the internet? And when given a choice between being with people (and by people I mean people who are either A) not related to me, B) the BFF, or C) Lil Sis's BFF) or being home and spending time with my beautiful, beautiful computer and my very comfy armchair, I'm like "INTERNET TIME! PICSPAM-MAKING TIME! READING YA NOVELS TIME! STAYING HOME AND WATCHING THINGS WHILE WEARING MINIMAL CLOTHING TIME!"

Wait. Maybe what I meant by "I fail at life" is "I fail at life."

Anyways, enough wallowing in my fail-dom. Popping in. Tell me about your lives. Tell me anything. Ask me anything. Post random gifs. Whatever. I've missed y'all, even if the idea of wading through comments or my flist is too overwhelming to contemplate at the moment. Still: hi! ♥

Oh, and I think I have a few fic recs for you later! So that's contributing, right?

1. Most important: I got hopelessly, hopelessly behind on my flist over the past week or two. As such, I’m certain I missed some things I didn’t want to miss. I’m going to try to wade through this weekend, but if you posted something (or saw that someone else posted something) that you know I’d want to see and I didn’t comment on it? Could you please give me a link? I’d love you forever! Not that I already don’t, because I do. But I’d love you forever longer.

2. Probably RPF will be popping up in my journal at some point. I know this makes several of you DELIRIOUSLY HAPPY and several more of you completely squicked. BUT I CANNOT RESIST THE AWESOMENESS THAT IS ANDREW/JESSE/EMMA/CAREY, OKAY? So that will probably happen. Fair warning.

3. I read a delightful little fic earlier that I think probably quite a lot of you missed. If you like Gilmore Girls, and you like Rory/Jess (and who doesn’t?), you should read Alice, about the next Gilmore girl. Awesome characterization and fun prose. I enjoyed it immensely.

4. The brilliantly wonderful in every conceivable way [livejournal.com profile] laeria wrote me ELEVEN AND RIVER BABYSIT LITTLE PONDS FIC. OH YES. THAT HAPPENED. I am so obsessed with the idea of little Ponds, y’all don’t even know. If I had my dream!season of Doctor Who, it would involve skipping forward in time about ten years and Amy and Rory AND THEIR CHILDREN running around in the Tardis with the Doctor and River and generally being so awesome I can’t even think about it.

5. BEING HUMAN. IN A MATTER OF DAYS. I MIGHT DIE OF EXCITEMENT. ANNIE ANNIE ANNIE AND GEORGE AND MITCHELL AND NINA. OMG SHOW! If you’re not watching that show, you really, really should be. I can’t think of a single reason not to. Except lack of access, I suppose. But other than that—no excuses.

6. I am having the world’s hardest time casting the James Garner character in my Great Escape gender swap. I’ve figured out everybody else! Why is he so difficult? Any suggestions? HARD.

7. I want to rant about something, and it involves spoilers for last night’s Community, so the rest of this is going behind a cut where I can rant about Community, Supernatural, hipsters, irony, and meta-ness, among other things )

Anyways. Sorry for that ridiculous rant. I just needed to get it out of my system. I now return you to your regularly scheduled fangirling. Always in progress.

So I've been kind of absent of late. Between new job, NaNoWriMo (which is going pretty well! Post about that to come, hopefully!) and busy family-ness, I just don't really have the time or energy to post a whole lot. Basically, by the time I get settled at home, I'm so tired that all I have the energy to do is reblog pictures of pretty people on tumblr, because that takes zero thought.

But I've been trying to keep up with y'all's posts, so there's that, but, once again, I am hopelessly behind in replying to comments in this here blog. Hopefully I can catch up with that very soon.

I've got a few fics ideas stewing that I might have some time to work on after November's over, and there's also YULETIDE OMG MY FAVORITE FANDOM ACTIVITY OF THE YEEEEEAR. Speaking of which, if you haven't signed up, it's not quite too late! You still have a few hours left! Get on it! Y'all, I signed up to write YA books of wonderfulness from my childhood! Heartbreaking and/or silly movies! Random Korean television! No matter what my assignment is, I will be psyched about it. Which reminds me that I need to finish up my "Dear Yuletide writer" letter stat.

Also! I have my next casting/picspam planned! Basically, now that I've started this, I will never stop. I have made a monster of my own self.

Oh, and I have a big big big project I need to start working on for January--keep watching this space for more info (and a couple of you keep watching your email boxes for requests for help--you know who you are, even if you have no idea what I'm talking about. If you think I'm talking about you, I am. I can vague that up a bit more, if you like. And yes, that's a hint).

I hope y'all are all doing well and that the gross weather (if you're having gross weather) hasn't been getting you down. Feel free to let me know what you're up to. Hopefully once the month is over, I'll be able to plunge back into lj life. I miss it.

Oh, and the last and most important thing (of the moment): in an hour and a half I will be sitting in a movie theater waiting for Harry Potter to start! My ticket is in my wallet! YAY YAY YAY!

Oh, and Emmie--I can't access my email here, but I wanted you to know that I got your email before I left for work this morning and I can't wait to check it out! Yay some more!
