oh goodness gracious i'm actually doing this

{Take the 100 Things challenge!}

Ahem.

In case you haven't noticed, lately I've been flailing trying to find things to post about. This is what happens when A) everything that's interesting about my life takes place in my own head and so isn't that fun to blog about and B) almost no one on my flist watches the same TV I am (problems!). So I'd been wanting a little structure so that I could have some sort of steady posting schedule and so that I would actually have something to write about. This challenge seemed like a great idea, but then the panic set in because: what would I possibly have to talk about that could be broken down in 100 things?

But I've finally hit upon a topic that I think I can sustain, but one that won't require every post to be long, and one that I think people will be more interested in than not. So, I will be posting:

100 Characters Who Helped Me Construct My Identity

Which sounds kind of pretentious, no? But in actuality, it will probably just be flail about how much I love Buffy Summers or Vicky Austin or Kim Na Na or something. I don't think I'll be posting more than once every couple of days, so hopefully this thing won't take over your flist. But I wanted to warn you before I actually plunged in. Hopefully we'll all do a little but of learning and growing together through this.

Nice. This is a great idea.

Hopefully we'll all do a little but of learning and growing together through this.

Hee! I love this sentence. It's so after-school special!

Thanks! I know you feel my pain about my inability to post.

It's so after-school special!

Exactly!

It seems a very nice idea!
So much love for fictional characters!

oooh, I like this! I want to do 100 things as well but I haven't the foggiest for a topic.

I had the hardest time coming up with something. I thought about going super-vague, like, "100 thoughts about the written word" which could be almost anything. I'm quite happen with the one I settled on, but I totally understand the I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO feeling.

I was hoping it was something that wouldn't be painful for my flist to endure. I just saw yours, and I think yours will be GREAT.

Thank you! I think it'll be fun to do, yeah :D

omg Vicky Austin. What a spirit animal.

I can't wait to see the variety of characters you'll dig up!

LOVE HER. Also still jealous of her having Adam Eddington in her life. How perfect was he?

There'll be quite a lot! I've started making a brainstorm list. It's been fun!

How I wish I’d read the Austin books at a younger age!. I was just thinking about Moon by Night and how gracefully L’Engle handled the question of “why would God would allow bad things to happen?”

How perfect was he?
HAHA, YES. I think every L’Engle reader grows up crushing on a particular one of her boys (well I crushed on both of the Murry twins, little wench that I was... ), but Adam is the most ~eligible~ one for sure.

I read A Ring of Endless Light at just the right age, but I do wish I'd read the other ones when I was younger!

:D

Vicky Austin

You too?

ETA: Also must point out that Adam Eddington was named for Arthur Eddington. YES, MY Arthur Eddington!!
