Ugh. I really need to write my Yuletide fic, but I am just not in a write-y kind of mood today. Instead, I just want to catch up on TV shows and maybe watch Downton Abbey because the picspams on tumblr are killing me with awesome. And I have another picspam casting project that I kind of want to do....But I should write my Yuletide fic!

And who cares that most of those 50,000 words suck? I have proved to myself that I can actually generate a lot of words and won't be limited to 3,000 word fanfics. And that feels pretty good.



Oh, yeah. I'm totally awesome.

With every passing day, I grow more and more convinced that television would be so much better if my flist ran it. Which...actually, it's probably a good thing that we don't, because if I'm as easily obsessed with it in its current imperfect form, imagine how I would be if it were even better. I would have no life. Or even less of one than I currently do.

This comes to mind because eilowyn is working on a Supernatural gender!swap cast (why does this not happen all the time? If any show's been begging to be gender!swapped, it's SPN) and miss_mishi did a race!swap casting of Marauders-era Harry Potter that is absolutely delightful. Go forth and marvel at the hot.

Also: I AM LESS THAN 3,000 WORDS AWAY FROM FINISHING NANOWRIMO, Y'ALL. I AM GONNA DO THIS. EXPECT A CELEBRATORY POST TONIGHT.

So I've been kind of absent of late. Between new job, NaNoWriMo (which is going pretty well! Post about that to come, hopefully!) and busy family-ness, I just don't really have the time or energy to post a whole lot. Basically, by the time I get settled at home, I'm so tired that all I have the energy to do is reblog pictures of pretty people on tumblr, because that takes zero thought.

But I've been trying to keep up with y'all's posts, so there's that, but, once again, I am hopelessly behind in replying to comments in this here blog. Hopefully I can catch up with that very soon.

I've got a few fics ideas stewing that I might have some time to work on after November's over, and there's also YULETIDE OMG MY FAVORITE FANDOM ACTIVITY OF THE YEEEEEAR. Speaking of which, if you haven't signed up, it's not quite too late! You still have a few hours left! Get on it! Y'all, I signed up to write YA books of wonderfulness from my childhood! Heartbreaking and/or silly movies! Random Korean television! No matter what my assignment is, I will be psyched about it. Which reminds me that I need to finish up my "Dear Yuletide writer" letter stat.

Also! I have my next casting/picspam planned! Basically, now that I've started this, I will never stop. I have made a monster of my own self.

Oh, and I have a big big big project I need to start working on for January--keep watching this space for more info (and a couple of you keep watching your email boxes for requests for help--you know who you are, even if you have no idea what I'm talking about. If you think I'm talking about you, I am. I can vague that up a bit more, if you like. And yes, that's a hint).

I hope y'all are all doing well and that the gross weather (if you're having gross weather) hasn't been getting you down. Feel free to let me know what you're up to. Hopefully once the month is over, I'll be able to plunge back into lj life. I miss it.

Oh, and the last and most important thing (of the moment): in an hour and a half I will be sitting in a movie theater waiting for Harry Potter to start! My ticket is in my wallet! YAY YAY YAY!

You know what kind of sucks?

Right at this very moment, I kind of really want to write a long, long Sam/Ainsley fic just because.

But it's NaNoWriMo month, and I'm already behind.

It's kind of hard to shift your mind from a love story about witty, bantery ideological opposites in love against the backdrop 21st century politics to a darkish pseudo-Victorian YA fantasy novel about the nature of family.

*sigh*

Thank God it is finally the weekend is all I have to say. No wait--I also have this to say:

SCREW YOU, JOHNNY DEPP. YOU ARE OVERRATED. KEEP YOUR GRUBBY HANDS OFF MY ORIGINAL OTP.

And since I never actually answer all of y'all's questions whenever I post memes, I figure this time I'll let you do the work. Also, you can cheer me up about living in a world where people KEEP MAKING REMAKES OF THINGS THAT DON'T NEED TO BE REMADE. See also: Being Human, Skins, etc., etc., and so forth.

Out of utter curiosity, if I was chained up in your attic (I prefer attics, basements are damp and cold, attics theoretically at least have windows), and I had to write you one story, what would you request? (demand?) Or alternatively, what's something you always hoped I'd write but know is never going to happen?

I expect some really fantastic answers to this.
