Also, you can cheer me up about living in a world where people KEEP MAKING REMAKES OF THINGS THAT DON'T NEED TO BE REMADE. See also: Being Human, Skins, etc., etc., and so forth.

Out of utter curiosity, if I was chained up in your attic (I prefer attics, basements are damp and cold, attics theoretically at least have windows), and I had to write you one story, what would you request? (demand?) Or alternatively, what's something you always hoped I'd write but know is never going to happen?

I expect some really fantastic answers to this.



Question: how do you reply to things on Tumblr? People are reply to my posts and I feel technologically challenged since I can't figure it out.

Let's see: I know you're new to WW, but I would love to see a fic from you set around S2/S3 time with Sam/Ainsley. Realistic fic where they're dealing with the differences in their political views and how to reconcile that with the fact that they want to give this thing a go. The one you wrote for that ficathon was fantastic and so grounded in realism. I think you'd do a great job with it. :)

I don't know why Being Human is getting remade. Is it that hard for people with U.S. accents to watch a show where people have British accents?

OTOH, remakes gave us the U.S. The Office, which I adore, so... But there are way too many remakes. With movies, too.

I don't understand either. You think it'd be cheaper for them to just buy some kind of rights from the BBC and play it here. Rome played on HBO--and it was pretty popular. I don't understand why they don't just do that.

No, believe it was a BBC production--or maybe something they didn't in conjunction with the BBC? For some reason, though, I'm thinking that it aired in the UK earlier than it showed on HBO. But I'm really not too sure how that all worked. I just know it says "BBC" at the end of the credits.

Okay. So, I know I said this on your tumblr, but I really mean it: I hate Johnny Depp. I think he's a very good actor, and I know that, empirically, he is attractive (though I'm about 98% sure that he smells like death warmed over, and that his breath has the stench of a thousand ash trays and gingivitis). But he is the most pretentious ass. And if you're going to be all "I don't deign to watch TV or modern movies" pretentious, why the fuck are you an actor? And shouldn't you at least have the good taste to not do major studio movies? He doesn't even do indie movies anymore, but his snobbery gets him all sorts of indie street cred. And he claims he's doesn't see his own movies? What the hell does he do during the premiere screening? Grr. And then there's a story he told on Letterman once about how, when he was on 21 Jump Street, he vandalized a billboard advertising the show that had him holding a gun. This was, in some way, supposed to be a great statement against what he thought was a "pro-gun" billboard. But somehow the logic escaped him that he actually DOES use a gun in the show, so really, he's a big fat hypocrite. And also he just destroyed the property of the people who signed his paycheck. Okay. I'm done now.

Well, no I'm not, actually. Also. Mirna Loy FTW. She is the model of awesome lady sass and class. Love her. And there is no one in the world like her. And I will weep tears of blood if they cast Julia Roberts in that role. Blood, I tell you.

My griping probably is not cheering you up, is it? Well, maybe this will. When I read a while back about the Footloose remake, and then the Fame remake, I was livid. Then I read about plans to remake Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and I vowed that if it ever happened, I would burn all of Hollywood to the ground. I would be willing to make a one time transfer of my vow--and burn Hollywood down over the Thin Man.

Also. I would make you write me a post-NFA Spuffy reunion in which Dawn and Buffy go LA on a lark and run into Spike. And they're both angry and snarky and funny. And Dawn is funny. And Dawn and Buffy are great and having fun sister times. And then something plotty happens, and they do things, and reluctant, angry professions of love are made. The end.

And if you would not cave to the seedy business that is fictional celebrity affairs, I'd change their names! Daniel is now Guy, Melanie, Sylvia, the tickets are now diamooooonds.

It would be this whole Before Sunset deal except these kids meet by accident the first time and then on purpose every time after that and it would go on for a decade and there'd be a broken marriage and a movie because Guy wants to be a film maker and he totally gets his shot and on his first project, the main female lead is eerily reminiscent of Melanie and she hasn't seen him for a year when the movie comes out and sits in the theatre looking at the version of herself that he sees when he looks at her and it's like a love letter but ON THE SCREEN.

If I could make you write anything? Today, it would be: some glorious angsty post-series Spuffy thing with Dawn and also Dru and Spike and Buffy facing up to his past some more (like in Damaged) and Dawn trying to use Dru's visions and ramblings to understand herself better and maybe get kidnapped, and there would be Dawn-Dru bonding of the creepiest, most precarious sort and a Spike/Buffy rescue (when Dawn didn't actually need rescuing, really) and a last Spike/Dru farewell, however you think that would look.

Or you could just write the post-series Spuffy mpreg we talked about a while back. That would be fine, too.

Because I KNOW they don't really talk to each other, but they can GROW, dammit. No one grows and changes like my OTP.
