I need to find a new job. I've been saying this the entire time I've had this job, but now they're completely overhauling everything, using a new software system, etc. and they're moving me to a department I do not want to be in (I SPECIFICALLY SAID I DIDN'T WANT TO BE IN THE ONE THAT MAKES ALL THE PHONE CALLS) and so I really need to start finding something else. Maybe somewhere in a new place. But either way: something else.

So if any of y'all have tips for me not having some sort of breakdown while I jobsearch since I find it so completely overwhelming, I'd love to hear them.

Also I have my first chigger bite of the year. I don't know how I managed to go this long without getting any, but UGH CHIGGERS.

+ Okay, so episode two of Sherlock was a bit of a let-down. Not bad, just not nearly as delightful as the first one and also with some ooky-feeling race!fail. You could totally tell that Moffat didn't write this episode. Does anyone know if he wrote the next one? And is it only three episodes? I want MOAR!

+ Job search: applied for an administrative assistant position in one of the departments at my alma mater (I like calling it that. It makes me feel accomplished). If I got it, I would get to eat lunch with my sister and cousins (the ones who will deign to be seen with me) and see my former professors a lot more. It isn't my ideal job, obviously, but it would be five minutes from my house and pay more than I'm currently making. Which are good things.

I also updated my resume (which looks much more impressive now that I've had a year more of experience. I also moved my educational stuff below my work experience now, which makes it look like I've accomplished things outside of school! Yay me!). Other than that, I have done nothing, and I feel guilty but I just can't. This job search is going to kill me unless something falls into my lap.

+ Tomorrow: pancakes at the crack of dawn at the best pancake place in town! With my friends! Yay!

+ Also, I am seriously sitting here considering rewatching all of The Vampire Diaries. And also thinking that I ship Damon/Elena a whole lot more than I thought I did. Because I have been dreaming about it. Is that a weird thing to admit? I think my dreams, which have always been vivid and not-with-the-sense-making, have become more interesting and easier to remember since I went on this medication, and I sort of love it. Anyways, for some reason, TVD keeps popping up in various ways in my dreams.

Also, I rewatched the ComicCon teaser for the new season (will they EVER release a good-quality version?), and I have some thoughts.

spoilers! )

Yeah. I'm gonna go rewatch now. Toodles!

Re: my last post: apparently, the position has been filled. SUCK. So, thanks for all your support, but that won't be my new job. *sigh*

I have an interview tomorrow!  For a job I kind of really want, even if the actual job itself isn't all that great.  But more about it tomorrow.   And also, tomorrow, probably a big, rambly epic sort of post about True Blood.  Because I'm all caught up, and I have lots to say about it!

For now, I'm nervous about said interview, so I'm going to steal this meme from [livejournal.com profile] afterthree .

Ask me my fannish Top Five [Whatevers]. Any top fives. Doesn't matter what, really! And I will answer them all in a new post. Possibly with pictures.

+ Well, the job search is equal parts terrifying and monotonous, so let's talk about happier things, okay?

+ Like the fact that on Saturday I finally got to see Stark Trek.

spoilers even though everybody's probably seen it already )

Yeah. So...there's that.

+ I'm also watching Farscape now, and of course I love it. And yes, yes, I have already developed a massive crush on Ben Browder and I think Claudia Black is awesome. Are we surprised? Not at all.

+ For those of you who love Tarsem Singh's The Fall as much as I do (and for those of you who haven't seen it, I am demanding that you rush to do so right. now. Check out my icon! It's Lee Pace! Everybody loves Lee Pace! Plus an adorable little girl! And the--bar none--most gorgeous movie ever made! And it's an examination of the nature of film and the power of storytelling! You can't go wrong!), you'll be thrilled to see that he's about to start a new movie called War of Gods, which stars Henry Cavill (hello, Albert!) as Theseus fighting the Titans! If you've seen The Fall, you'll understand when I say that THIS IS THE GREATEST NEWS IN THE WORLD.

+ Working on my [livejournal.com profile] good__evil challenge entries. The gorgeous art really is inspiring; I really hope I can come up with something worthy of it.

+ For those of you still caught up finals and stuff, good luck!
