You got all of my ships except for #20! The answer to that one is behind the cut )

ALSO! In case you are intrigued by #16, it's from Press Gang, most awesome of awesome "kids'" shows about a group of students running a newspaper. IT IS THE ACTUAL BEST (scroll down for my ramblings), and you should all watch it and you can find it here. WATCH IT AND COME BACK AND TELL ME HOW YOU LOVE IT.

And also: one last plea for a Doctor Who beta? I should be finishing the story in the next few days, and I'd love for someone to take a look at it considering it's my first real DW story.

And now I am off to work on NaNo.

I need to take this moment to freak the heck out because I just figured out that Spike from Press Gang is playing Nathan's dad on Misfits. HOW IS ANYTHING SO PERFECT POSSIBLE? I'm now going to totally disregard the fact that we've already met his mom and pretend that she's played by Julia Sawalha. OH HAI DEXTER FLETCHER. YOU HAVE NOT AGED WELL AND YOU SOUND REALLY FUNNY WHEN YOU AREN'T FAKING AN AMERICAN ACCENT AND DELIVERING SNARKY STEVE MOFFAT-PENNED DIALOGUE AND BEING A REALLY GOOD GUY WHILE PRETENDING TO BE A BAD BOY. STILL, I AM GLAD TO SEE YOU ON MY TELEVISION SCREEN. PERFECT CASTING IS PERFECT.

And yes, I'm still crossing my fingers that Moffat will do the Press Gang reunion movie. He's got the go ahead from the network. Now he just needs to make it happen.

Also, yes, Dexter Fletcher is freakishly short, and I amused by any jokes along those lines.

I thought I might as well collect all of the fics I've been writing for LADYFEST '10 aka The Most Awesome Thing To Ever Happen to the Internet. I'll probably end up writing more, but this is it for now.

The Stars Are Made of Fire - Inglourious Basterds - Shosanna Dreyfus - PG-13

Foreshadowing - The Sound and the Fury - Caddy Compson (plus Caroline, Dilsey, and the boys) - G

Razor's Edge - Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Buffy Summers (Buffy/Spike) - PG-13

Where There's Smoke - Press Gang - Lynda Day - PG

YES I LEGIT WROTE FAULKNER FANFIC. Which, in addition to being alliterative, is possibly the most in-character thing I have ever done ever in my whole life ever.

Also, I may or may not be working on a longer Shosanna fic for the other part of Ladyfest. Because I am like that.

And that decision is that this 30 day meme thing is just going to be updated whenever I feel like it. And tonight I feel like it.

So far:

Day 01 - A show that never should have been canceled

And now:

Day 02 - A show you wish more people were watching

answer here )

To come! )

Still job searching. Still half-frustrated, half-depressed. So, once again, let's talk of pleasanter things.

Like TV. I haven't done a TV post in a while, but I've been watching some stuff lately and have some new shiny toys.

Let's talk Leverage - maybe spoilers? )

And then last night I finally got around to watching the pilot for Glee--also very shiny.  Glee - spoilers for the first episode )

For a much better (more nuanced and occasionally darker) view of high school life, I want to reccomend to everyone my latest obsession: Press Gang.  I finished it several months ago, but I've never gotten around to writing about it; I thought this would be a good time.

The show is a British "children's show" (really more young adult than anything--the characters are around 15-18 for most of the series) from the late 80s/early 90s, and every episode is written by Steve Moffet, he of Doctor Who fame.  SM wrote my favorite episode of that show--"Blink," of course--and has some other solid ones, but if you're hesitant on him, you should check out PG to see what he can do.  I absolutely adore this show.  Press Gang ramblings )

Wow, y'all.  That was like the most teal deer thing ever.  I apologize profusely.  I doubt any of you will read all of that.  Anyways!

I'm going to take care of a lot of replies I need to get to tonight.  And for those of you who might be waiting for the next chapter of "Love and Blackmail," my apologies.  I know exactly where I'm going with it, so it'll get finished and soon, but I'm having a hard time feeling motivated.  I'm tired all the time and never really want to leave the house, and I can't make myself do anything constructive.  Hopefully, I'll get over that soon.

I have eaten

Oh, wait.  That's not what I meant at all.  (My apologies to William Carlos Williams.)  Let me start over.

This is just to say that I'm on spring break vacation with my family (more on that later) and the internet has been incredibly spotty, which I wasn't expecting at all.  So for those of you who are wondering why I haven't been replying to your posts, that's why (yes, for once, it's actually not my fault).  And for those of you who are waiting for more fic from me...it might not be till Sunday or Monday that I get the next post of I.I.I. posted.

In other news, thanks so much to whoever nominated me for the Reader's Choice Award at Rogue Poet Awards.  Look!  A little button-y thingie!

Expect upcoming posts on:

My Buffy paper for my Lit Theory class!  (I have a tentative thesis!  Which is great considering that this is due in a week and a half!)
Vacation-y goodness
Dollhouse
Battlestar Galactica if I ever catch up (I'm kind of dreading doing so because I have a feeling the ending is going to be a gigantic letdown, but that's a whole 'nother story)
My paranoia over graduation/job search
The fact that Press Gang may be the greatest show ever and I have a new OTP involving a leather-clad, smart-ass guy named Spike who thinks he's a badass but is really a big softie with a thing for bossy, capable, strong women

But for now...I hope everyone is having a much better March than you did February (which generally sucked for everyone, didn't it?) and life is treating y'all wonderfully and I miss you and I'll hopefully be spamming your journals soon.

That is all.

P.S. How awesome is it that "bitchy" on my moodtheme is Jackie letting someone have it?  I worship Jackie Burkhart and aspire to her level of awesome.
