Normally this is the kind of thing I would share on tumblr, but since I don't have access to it at work anymore...
My little sister is teaching English in Ecuador right now. She keeps sending me emails asking me grammar questions to help her better explain the English language ("In the sentence 'I like running' what part of speech is 'running'?" that sort of thing). Lots of them. Which is fun for me, since I love grammar and haven't done a thing with it since high school.
Today I logged into my email and I saw an email that said "The monkey rode the dog's back all night." And I thought, "Oh, this is a grammar question, she's going to ask something about the sentence construction or a part of speech."
Um. No.
