lirazel: An outdoor scene from the film Picnic at Hanging Rock ([dh] we'll look for each other)

First off, I’m working on drabbles. Most of them have run away with me (meaning gotten reeeeally long), but I’m having fun with them, and they should be up fairly soon, hopefully. Thanks for your prompts!

Second, take a look at how absolutely gorgeous and Buffy-like Sarah Michelle Gellar is looking in these amazing photos from Veronika Decides to Die. Every time I think I can’t get more excited about this movie, I do. The book and I have a complicated relationship, but I think the movie could be great. And there’s no doubt in my mind that Smidge is going to hit it out of the park. Nobody does pain like she does. *hops up and down* I’m so excited about this movie! (And I can already tell I'm going to be writing fic for this. I can already tell.)

Third, it’s time for another of my ridiculously long and rambly TV posts! *WOOT*

Yesterday, I finished up with How I Met Your Mother, and yes, I did watch four seasons in less than one week, thanks for asking. I don’t watch many sitcoms at all, they don’t really appeal to me, but I love this show.

cut for length and possible S4 spoilers )

Last night I watched Dollhouse’s “Epitaph One,” and all I have to say is

DAMN.

Joss Whedon, MAKE THIS SHOW. This episode is post-apocalyptic and twisted and gorgeous and SO FREAKING GOOD. Seriously, this is the show I’ve been waiting for from him. I WANT IT I WANT IT I WANT IT.

cut for spoilers for Epitaph One )

Also, there were some pretty great references to the original pilot of the show “Echo.” As for that, FOX IS MADE OF FAIL. This episode was infinitely better than the pilot that was actually aired.

spoilers? can they be spoilers if we already know everything that happened next? )

So that's what I've been watching lately.  Now, back to writing.

Life is really, really, really busy right now; hopefully I'll be back and seriously posting soon, catching up with y'all, catching y'all up with me, etc. (spring break!  next week!), but for now, you must all adore the pictures of sheer adorableness.  Click on them a couple of times to get a close up.

behold the cuteness! )

In other (only slightly less exciting) news, I have a new moodtheme!  The Little Women one served me long and well, but this is That 70s Show!  And animated!  The "giddy" one is my favorite; Red is high and squirting whipped cream on his head!

lirazel: An outdoor scene from the film Picnic at Hanging Rock (Default)
With the exception of epic squeeing about Gossip Girl, I really haven't had time to post or catch up with any of y'all lately because, hello, finals week (two more. After Wednesday, I'm FREE!). However, I couldn't not share my sheer insane glee at this.

Sarah Michelle Gellar has finally found a movie worthy of her. That's right, y'all. Not a horror film. Not a Scooby-Doo movie. But an adaptation of a Paul Coelho novel that looks more than amazing. Even though I've girlcrushed on her since I saw the first season of Buffy, I don't think I'd realized how much I really love SMG until I started watching this trailer and saw how lovely she looked and started squealing with delight. That woman can angst. One of my favorite Joss-isms ever is at Paley when he talked about how he nicknamed her "Jimmy Stewart" behind her back because she can just go there with the pain, like Mr. Stewart, the greatest American actor in pain. The film itself looks like it will be beautifully shot and incredibly well-acted, and I just cannot contain my excitement.

And she's playing a character named Veronika. I don't know why that makes the whole thing infinitely better, but it does.

And since pretty people angsting may be my favorite thing in the history of ever, you can imagine how excited I am about this movie. I will be there opening day.

Better quality trailer here.

Oh, and the scene where she's in the pool was giving me flashbacks. First Eliza in the Dollhouse trailer, now Sarah. SLAYERS IN SWIMMING POOLS!

I am so ridiculous.

Also? Remus Lupin! And, more importantly, TOMMY DONNELLY! Oh, y'all. The crossover potential. I may have to go write Tommy/Buffy fic for this week's [livejournal.com profile] choco_cherries . Just to warn you. (And that might have given me the idea of Dawn/Kevin, too.)

Okay, back to studying.
