Hmmm...

I am unsure about this new lj layout. I'm absolutely mad about the header (made by [livejournal.com profile] katekat1010 and for more awesomeness of the banner variety, check out my new gun banner of awesome in my profile, made by the very generous [livejournal.com profile] ladyofthelog and featuring women of the kickass variety!), and I wanted a color scheme that would match it, but I didn't want a black background under my text (been there, done that, had complaints about others not being able to read it). But I'm not sure about the overall affect.

What do y'all think? Is it awesome? Tacky?

I think also that the first strip of color, the one right below the header, is a different shade than the rest of the red on the stylesheet (or it could just look that way because it's close to the darker colors above? Am I going crazy?). I'm wondering if someone who's way better with CSS than I am would maybe tell me how to change it so that it matches the darker color below? Adding headers is about the only thing I know to do with CSS, and even that takes a lot of trial and error.
