Bad news, y'all....

I just got the first notification that one of my friends has gotten a virtual gift. Which means that soon my inbox will be INUNDATED with such notifications. So my question is: does anybody know how I can choose not to get notified for such things? I want to keep all my other notifications but as much as I love y'all, I really don't care when you're getting virtual gifts, especially not when you're all getting them at once! Is it like facebook where you can pick which things you get emails for? Or am I stuck with it? Is it ridiculously easy and I'm stupid for not knowing?
