lirazel: Lan Wangji from The Untamed against a backdrop of white flowers ([tv] light-bearing)
Let's finally do this thing!

Rules: give us the links to your fics with the most hits, second most kudos, third most comments, fourth most bookmarks, fifth most words, and fic with the fewest words.

Main account:

Most hits: use the wood brought in by the tide, my meditation on family dynamics through the eyes of Lan Wangji, newly married to Wei Wuxian and living at Lotus Pier. This has BY FAR the most hits--over 20,000 more than the next one on the list. It doesn't surprise me that it has the most hits, but just how many more it has than others? Yeah, that's surprising. Definitely my most successful fic in terms of reach.

Second most kudos: with intent, my OTHER Wangxian-get-married story and my first in the fandom. Again, not a surprise.

Third most comments: the heart's reasons seen clearly, my Wen Qing & Jiang Yanli story. This one is a surprise! I guess it's because it's one of my few multi-chapter fics, so it got comments on each chapter.

Fourth most bookmarks: even in this domain of hunger, my vampire!Wei Wuxian fic. The bookmarks-to-hits ratio is surprising here; I'm guessing it really captured a few people's ids! Which, understandable. I wrote it out of my id.

Fifth most words: Ars Poetica. Finally, something that isn't The Untamed! My Spuffy-through-the-lens-of-poetry fic! This one was really weird--I'm pretty sure I wrote it for seasonal_spuffy and it was definitely inspired by someone else's story that had Spike teaching a poetry class? My memory tells me that the writer's name was something like anna_cp? It was one of those fics only found on a specific fansite--the one that was mostly shades of brown? I can picture it so clearly and yet I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the site! One of my old Spuffy comrades help me out here!

It was not Dark Solace/Elysian Fields, All About Spike, Nocturnal Light, the Spuffyrealm, or Sunnydale After Dark. It was another one!

Fic with the fewest words: War Paint. A drabble, of course! This one was about Priya from Dollhouse.

Kpop account:

Most hits: celestial mechanics. My one Myungsoo/Hoya fic. Weird that a rarepair has the most hits, but I guess that's the pure, undiluted power of the omegaverse. This is the only omegaverse fic I ever wrote, and it ended up mostly being about how much the omegaverse sucks. Lol.

Second most kudos: the air that inhabits. Myungsoo's pov as Sungyeol deals with a sasaeng (stalker) fan. This was very iddy. I am not surprised it spoke to other people's ids, too. I also wrote it when Myungyeol was definitely the second biggest ship in the fandom (after Woogyu, which has always dominated), so that makes sense too.

Third most comments: i have always confused desire with apocalypse. Lol, speaking of iddy! My weirdo dystopian novella! This was multi-chapter and posted as it was written, so again, that makes sense.

Fourth most bookmarks: Quadrilateral. I am genuinely shocked that this, my OT4 fic, has so many bookmarks! I always think of it as something I just sort of dashed off, unlike my big novels or a few of the one-shots that I labored over a lot. Fun that it resonated though!

Fifth most words: they lose themselves eyes open. Oh, the Pacific Rim AU! This one was fun to write!

Fewest words: nothing compares 2 u. The Wookey texting fic! Literally the only text message fic I've ever written. It's total nothing, but even so, I'd format it so differently now.

lirazel: Spock, Bones, and Kirk from TOS ([tv] boldly go)
Spoilers, obvs.

lumon wants to control the human emotions—the four tempers (woe, frolic, dread, malice, etc.) they either want to balance them or isolate them or something. they’re trying to do this by creating versions of humans that feel only one of these things. so, like knowing you only exist to get painful dental work done—that essentially turns you into dread. this is what’s happening to gemma—she’s a human guinea pig.

somehow, the numbers and their auras on the microdata refinement screens are attached to what the guinea pigs are feeling. when a refiner completes one of these projects, that is evidence that the guinea pig has successfully been turned into one of the lumon tempers.

mark’s connection to his wife makes him best at this for gemma. when she reached dread (or woe?) behind the allentown door, he confirmed it by completing that project.

whatever cold harbor is, it’s the hardest emotion to isolate and the one they haven’t been successful with with any of the previous guinea pigs. but gemma and hence mark are really close.

meanwhile, lumon is making money off their project by pretending it’s about letting rich people skip over all the painful and unpleasant parts of life (labor, dentistry) by creating an innie who experiences it in their stead. but that’s not why they’re doing it—they’re scientologists with a pharmaceutical company and better p.r. it’s all about keir’s plan for creating perfect humans or something.

now how all this works is beyond me. how are the refiners the only ones who can feel what the guinea pigs feel and confirm the success of projects? why is dylan so good at it? what did gemma’s doctors find out about her while she was undergoing her fertility treatments that made them know she would be a good guinea pig? and what the hell are the goats about? i don’t know but i think i’m on the right track with some of this!
