Drabble: No Escape

My first drabble reponse for the challenge I issued last week!  This one is for [livejournal.com profile] pennydrdful , who requested Buffy and Spike, in a place they had hoped to avoid.  I was incredibly proud of myself for producing an actual 100-word drabble!

So.  Buffy and Spike, post-NFA.  Couldn't come up with a title for something so short, but if you have any suggestions, let me know.  Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] angearia  for the title.

“Oh, no.  No, no, no, no, no!”

“Buffy—“

“You have got to be kidding me!  Are they hellbent on world domination?  Does this signal some apocalypse I have to combat?  Have they followed me here?”

“Pet, I really don’t think that it’s anything to do with you.  It’s just the way these people operate.”

“They’re trying to torture me.  They are.”

“Look, we’ll just…ignore it, alright?  Stay far away.”

“Spike, get me out of here.”

And Spike takes her elbow and steers her away from the brand new Doublemeat Palace, its flashing “Grand Opening!” sign lighting up Leicester Square.

Heee! That seems like a very plausible scenario.;)

Thanks! That's what happens with fast food chains--they take over till you're in Honduras or a small town in the Czech Republic and you keep seeing McDonald's everywhere and you ask God why you can't escape them (and yes, this has happened to me).
