There's going to be a 50 Shades of Suck movie????? How can this be anything but straight-up porn with lots of messed-up character dynamics to pad around the edges? WHAT KIND OF RATING WILL IT GET???? I am trying to imagine what the end result is going to look like...and my imagination fails me. Thankfully.

Well, to play devil's advocate, they did manage to film American Psycho and Secretary without turning them into hardcore porn. So that much I think they'll manage. As for making it an actual good movie, though...

I do not understand this book at all. Everyone in the media is talking about it like it's revolutionary or something, like there's never been erotica before? (Apparently the author is going to be on The View tomorrow.) What is so different about this one? Plus, it's awful. The writing is horrible, and the porn isn't even hot.

Draco understands your feelings. I actually don't know anything about 50 Shades of Grey! I saw everyone on my flist bitching about it, and since I trust their tastes, I never bothered to think about it ever again. But omg, it just sounds like purple-prose-filled erotica, what sort of a movie will they make of it D:

There is no small part of me that is furious that Secretary is even being brought into the conversation - obviously the people bringing it up here aren't saying the two should be equated, but I am sure the movie will continue to get referenced and NO. My beautiful, nuanced little movie that deals with its themes and characters with dignity and sex positivity and maturity and love! MY FAVOURITE MOVIE. And now it will be advertised as "other things you might like" when people look up Fifty Shades of Suck on Amazon etc.

In other news, dying for days over the idea of Somerhalder starring in this.
