Like, the whole time I kept expecting it to be a joke or something, like she was just messing with him or they were going to twist the will-they-won't-they trope somehow, but then she said it and it just stretched out awkwardly, and sometime after it came back from the commercial break, it dawned on me that she probably actually meant it, and that is SO NOT BRITTA.
I agree that it's definitely not going to be a happy ending for Jeff/Annie, but I just have NO idea where they'll go with it. I am so caught off-guard.
It really burns me because I really love Britta! And doing that, like that, in public, for that reason just did a great disservice to her character, I think.

Okay, speculation: 1. Jeff and Annie will totally do it like bunnies all summer, but it will have ended by the time the semester starts, and it'll be awkward. 2. They'll still be together, but they don't tell the group, because THAT would be awkward, but of course, they act all weird and it eventually comes out. 3. They DO tell the group, which results in Britta being all weird and jealous some more. 4. Jeff and Annie will pretend it didn't happen and three months later, they'll still be where they are right now.
