This is one of those "I'm having a conversation on whedonesque; tell me what you think about what I'm saying" posts.

Yeah, I think there's an assumption made by anti-Spike people that all his fans love him because he's 'so cool/hot'. Hence, the 'pandering to fangirls' accusation that makes me want to TAKE A NINE IRON TO THEIR SKULLS.
