Three Sentence Fic-a-Thon

Let's do this thing!

THE THREESentenceFIC-A-THON

In this challenge, you write a fic consisting of only three sentences in response to a prompt. All fandoms/characters/ships are welcome, and you can leave as many prompts and write as many fic as you like. Please leave only one prompt per comment, though there can be multiple fic "answers" to each prompt.

Format:

Fandom, character/pairing, prompt word/sentence

Please go here for more in-depth instructions, examples, and to ask any questions or voice any concerns you may have.

Pimp far and wide, please! The more participants, the more fic! And if someone wants to whip up a banner or something, that would be great!

Go forth and fic!

Firefly - Mal/Inara - in all the most familiar places

Captain Mal Reynolds is not a man of fancy: he knows that lips taste like lips and whores' lips taste like fancy bonbons and desperation. Inara tastes familiar because she's absorbed his Serenity, and because he's not done did for ages and because he misses home, a little bit sometimes, the grass and the sunshine, and sunshine doesn't taste like anything, so clearly he is projecting, projecting his wishes right into her mouth, and what right does he have? He doesn't want to be her next, most fucked-up patron, using her like an empty pad of paper to sketch his desires.

Such beautiful language, seriously. Mal's voice is so strong here, and I lovelovelove the images you're conjuring up here. This is just so very well done.

In Serenity, they can work. Within the womb of the (mother)ship they both love so much, surrounded by the only people who really know them (the only family either one of them have), safe in the absolute knowledge of their own places, they can kiss and flirt and yell in the cargo hold, drink tea and fix dinner in the galley, make love and hold each other in her shuttle, brush hands and exchange looks as they pass in the halls.

In Serenity, they can work (but the certainty always hangs above their heads, ready to come crashing down to crush them in the end: they'll have to step out into the world someday, and what happens then?).

HAH. Oh I loved this. The world, the world, who needs the world? This is so real and floaty and beautiful - reminds me of the theme song! (I don't care, I'm still free.)

Aw! Thank you! I wasn't sure about it, so that puts my mind at ease!

Oh, this is beautiful. It's just so them. I just have to reiterate how much I love the way you write Firefly, and Mal and Inara. ♥
