It's the same with pottery classes over here (thank you, Great Pottery Throwdown). I've been trying to get to a specific pottery class for years now, but my fingers just aren't quick enough because all the spots are always taken within the first minute!

As someone who has done all of these things, I need to ask before answering: do you have experience in any of these, and where do you want the course to fall on the vibes vs stress scale :D

(that said, for some reason I see you doing watercolours like a Regency lady :D )

In that case you're probably good with any of them :D

The thing with watercolours is that it looks relaxing, but can be stressful if you expect perfection because it has a mind of its own, and acts completely differently than oils or acrylics. You just have to go with the flow and let the paints take the lead.

(people also say that crochet is relaxing, and it probably is, unless you're like me and have sausages for fingers and hate math, in which case it's torture :D)

But my philosophy about arts and crafts is to just have a go and see if you like it. As I told a friend who was disappointed that their work didn't look like they planned when we were at a pottery class together a while ago, art isn't about replicating things, it's about expressing yourself.

I was torn between Drawing and Sewing but ultimately opted for drawing.

Hope you find something fun!

I voted pottery on the logic that, of all of those, it would be the hardest to self-teach off of youtube (plus the kiln issues).

I voted for pottery cos it's apparently an expensive hobby and I hope this is a cheaper version? And it seems like the one that most dramatically benefits from a teacher and equipment. My BFF loves it, she's now got her own wheel and kiln in her garage!

Of course I think you should do pottery.

I chose drawing just because that is what I would want to do.

I'm saying pottery because that's something you can't pick up on your own at home.

I agree with everyone's comments on pottery being very cool, but it also depends whether you have any sensory issues. I liked pottery as a kid, but as an adult, I feel like it sounds like a lot of hand washing on my already dry and cracked hands, haha.
