either the story is complete, or I can finish it all in my head anyway Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. It's definitely the most frustrating thing about TV shows.

I nearly never watched TV growing up; we had one, of course, and I watched a little bit, but it wasn't till college that I discovered that really good TV does the same thing for me that a novel does--gives me characters who change a grow and time to know them. That's why it's so disappointing that there's this massive downside to it all.
