lirazel: An outdoor scene from the film Picnic at Hanging Rock ([classic] mambo)

It's time for a rant!

I am so pissed about the remake of Fame. The original movie was fabulous because of the brilliant cast and great music...but mostly because the stories were so real. Many plotlines weren't resolved, and people made stupid decision and things didn't always work out. The remake is clearly recycling the same tired cliches--cliches the original film was lacking, thank God--we've seen in a dozen teen-inspirational type movies. Why did they even call it Fame? They've changed the names and stories, and nothing remains but the concept of a performing arts high school.

In protest, I'm posting these to remind you all of how awesome the original is.

Everytime I see the prmoos for Fame on my TV, I promptly take out my slipper and proceed to deface the name by pounding said slipper into the screen to rid the sin of what is called this "Fame remake"

It's blasphemy is what it is. What I hate the most is that it's rated PG. No great R-film can be remade into a PG film! NONE!

I APPROVE OF SLIPPER-POUNDING.

Exactly! They're going to take out all the awesomeness!

I hate all this 'family friendly" crap floating around. It sucks. The REAL "Fame" was never family friendly but pushed you into the harsh relaity of what fame is. Not some gushy teen-fantasy where everyone hooks up and does one big final number to exclaim to the world.

It's lke High School Musical meets crack.

Hee.

I'm okay with family-friendly stuff that's aimed for children, but this is a TEEN MOVIE.

The REAL "Fame" was never family friendly but pushed you into the harsh relaity of what fame is. Not some gushy teen-fantasy where everyone hooks up and does one big final number to exclaim to the world. And oh my goodness, you could not be more right. Amen.

Exactly. Why are they defacing the original? WHY?!!!!

Again. I state. HSM on crack.
