for my infinite readers
Hey, y’all! Well, the end is in sight for Shoot to Kill (which I’m trying not to think about too much, because I’m going to be bereft when it’s over—I don’t know how I'll handle it). And of course that’s gotten me to thinking about what I should write next. I have several fics in the works (a post-apoco OT7 fic because I am me, more of my uni!AU that I’ve dubbed the toaster ‘verse, some more angsty MyungYeol-shaped things), but I’m also kind of wanting to write another long, chaptered WooYeol fic.
So this is a post about that. The first question: would you read such a fic, even if it’s pretty different than Shoot to Kill? Please answer the poll!
[Poll #1867871]
If your answer to the first question was anything but no, I’d love to hear what kinds of fics you’d like to read. I’m open to doing AUs or ‘canon,’ whatever, so long as it’s not too, too plotty. It’s better for me when I can have sort of a vague plot but keep most of the attention on the relationships between the characters. So do you have any ideas? I of course have a few myself, but none that I’m married to quite yet, so I’d love to hear some prompts. Feel free to throw as many ideas as you possibly can at me in the comments!
And I also want to take a moment to thank everyone who’s been reading and (especially!) reviewing, whether you’ve been reading since the beginning or just got into the fic. I’ve written this one because I can’t not write it, but you have no idea how much joy I get in knowing that people are enjoying it, and your enthusiasm and kindness has definitely inspired me each time I’ve sat down to write more. THANK YOU SO MUCH. ♥

because I like seeing how irl details get ~transformed~ in fics like that
I agree--that can be super delightful!
(Um, if you wanted to like, write up outlines of those fics, I would read them. No doubt they'd help me get to know the girls and also would be fun because your mind is fun.)
Thank you! ♥

Good point! I definitely agree.
I do love me a good OT3, and I don't know that I've ever seen a long fic that actually explored that. It's something I'm interested in, definitely.
high fantasy because then you should probably be writing original fiction.
Oh, I'm not into high fantasy in fanfic at all. Mostly when I say 'fantasy' I mean fantastical elements as opposed to an entirely new world. I love worldbuilding, but that's not what fanfic is for.
also, why the aversion to plot? i'm curious.
It's just not my thing. While I enjoy plotty narratives, they don't move me the way character-driven stuff does (although there are a few things out there that combine the two, but usually one suffers at the hands of the other). I'm primarily interested in story as a way of exploring what it feels like to be human, so character/relationship (not necessarily romantic) focused things are my favorite. That and I just don't enjoy doing plot because I'm not so very good at it, and fanfic is my playtime, so I'm not going to do something I don't enjoy.
That said, I'm not opposed to plot, I just like to keep it...a little looser, if that makes sense.

And I would absolutely love anything you write. I loved all the ones you made, and I think I will continue to do so in the long run! So go ahead and do anything, even the most unlikely of all pairings! I am not looking for anything with the storyline either, I would read anything, as long as the first chapter grabs my whole attention.... but I love it when authors base the stories on the things happening in the characters' real life. (Because it makes me giddy when I can imagine it happening and to be honest it makes me a little more curious-hopeful that this might actually happen to them, hihi.)
And thank you so much for Shoot To Kill. You have no idea how wonderful that story is, and how much it makes my day whenever I see a new chapter uploaded. When I feel bored or just completely sad (and when my day is a mess -- remember that other when I blogged about it on Tumblr), all I do is reread my favorite chapters, and I feel a lot better. So the same way you're thankful to your readers is the same way (or even more) that we're thankful for you, Lauren! Thank you. A lot lot loooot. ♥

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and encouragement! I will keep that in mind.
Oh, you're so welcome, and you're also so sweet! I'm so happy I can write something that might make your day a bit better! That's humbling and exciting at the same time! Thank you, Cathe! Thank you!

your sungjong in STK is fantastic and there aren't many fics centered on Sungjong
Everyone is so wrapped up in the other six....
So a Hojong fic ?
or Woojong ?
Or Gyujong ?
Since Ranking King I've wanted to read a good woojong fic.....

I do love me some Sungjong, and I have a soft spot for the Hojong ship. I don't know if I'll write any, but it might be fun! At any rate, I think I'll want to make Sungjong pretty important in almost all my stories because I love him, so look out for some appearances by him! And thank you for your input!

im not really picky with pairings I don't really read the popular ones......
look forward to whatever you write down the line......

i do admit that while normal life au's are overdone, i am an absolute SUCKER for the well-written ones. i voted for both the au's though. and it's not that i have any aversion to canon fics because those make for the most accurate character portrayals, which obviously i love!!, but for me personally (since i've been in kpop fandom for a loooong time), eventually when you read so many versions of descriptions of schedules and stages and lights and makeup, it becomes a little tiring... lol...

That's so good to hear! Since that's my focus in the stories. :D

I am exactly the same way! I often think, "Ugh, another normal life AU" but then if it's good, I end up LOVING it.

Ha! I didn't even think of that, though that makes sense. I'm so new to kpop fandom that this all feels fresh and new! But I now exactly what you mean--after being in some of my old fandoms for a while, there were certain plots that got incredibly stale.
Thanks for the feedback!

I hope you will write a chaptered fic for MyungYeol one day too *sobs* those oneshots are not enough for me. Lol. My feels for MyungYeol is infinite xD
I hope you'll consider writing chaptered MyungYeol in the future and I'll look forward to your new WooYeol fanfic as well as any other infinite stories your brilliant mind will come up with =3

Sungyeol's really easy to ship with lots of people, isn't he? Lovely boy!
I probably will end up writing some chaptered MyungYeol fics, though I don't know that any of them will be as long as STK. But maybe I'll get lucky and come up with a great plot for them!
Thank you so much for the feedback!

Yay! I'll definitely look forward to that! It's ok if it's not going to be as long as STK. I'll be happy with any chaptered MyungYeol fanfics =3
