ahem

So I'm getting ready to read all of y'all's thoughts on last night's TVD (in scanning my flist, I saw about 8 reaction posts. Which makes me laugh), but I just have one thing to say about it myself.

WHAT THE HELL WHY DID STEFAN NOT AT LEAST UNDO ELENA'S SEATBELT BEFORE SAVING MATT??????????? SHE COULD HAVE BEEN IN THE PROCESS OF SAVING HERSELF TILL HE GOT BACK. WHAT IS THIS???????????? THAT IS SERIOUSLY ONE OF THE STUPIDEST THINGS I HAVE EVER SEEN AND I HATE THIS KIND OF STUPIDITY. I'VE SAID IT BEFORE AND I'LL SAY IT AGAIN: IF YOUR PLOT REQUIRES PEOPLE TO ACT LIKE IDIOTS, THEN IT IS A BAD PLOT.

THERE IS NO REASON SHE COULDN'T HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET TO THE SURFACE AND JUST NOT MADE IT IN TIME. AT LEAST THEN SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN ACTIVE. UGH I CANNOT WITH YOU SHOW.

That is all.

Why did she have the presence of mind to sit there arguing with Stefan while NEVER ONCE ATTEMPTING TO UNDO HER SEAT BELT! She tried the door, but never to undo the damn seat belt!

IT MADE ME SO ANGRY. SO VERY VERY ANGRY.

Honestly, I think it would have been more emotionally affecting if she'd tried to reach the surface but didn't make it. But I guess that would have undone the parallels with her parents? I don't know, the whole scene was a giant mess.

But it wouldn't have undone the parallels! She didn't have to be completely stuck in the car. I mean, the parallels don't have to be 1:1 exactly the same. /shakes fist at TVD writers

I think they thought they did! I would have sacrificed the parallels for SENSE-MAKING at any rate.

OR OR OR, there could have been some sort of big heavy thing pinning her in or something.

Yep, I thought the same! Have her pinned in if she has to say in that car. Urrrgh.
