Some spoiler-y Dr. Horrible thoughts!
And, just for fun, a meme! Gakked from
serendipily.
Unpopular Fandom Opinions Meme
Name a fandom, and I'll give you the scoop on at least three of my unpopular opinions related to that fandom!
Buffy
Angel
Veronica Mars
Friday Night Lights
Firefly
Supernatural
Heroes
Gilmore Girls
Harry Potter
That 70s Show
I'll try to be wildly controversial and truly original, though I make no promises.
Could my crush on Neil Patrick Harris get any bigger? (as Izi says, it 's probably inappropriate considering he's gay, but I just don't care at all. He's way too much love.) Somebody over on whedonesque said it best: You know, there are shows that I watch whole seasons of without learning to care about the characters very much. It only took the Whedon team and NPH ten minutes to make me love Billy. I love the way that Neil (and Joss) can make me instantly be on the side of the villain without any sort of objections at all.
Of course, that might have to do with how perfectly, completely smarmy Nathan is as Captain Hammer--what a jackass! I felt so horrible for Dr. Horrible! (And honestly, I did not mean to make that pun. I swear. It just happened.) I adored when Nathan came riding in on the top of that van with the wind in his hair and that horrible smirk on his face! Oh Nathan! He really can do anything, can't he? Heartbroken and noble as Mal or smarmy as Captain Hammer.
The writing was sly and funny and just the right balance between punny and obvious and then clever and witty. Those Whedons can write! And the songs were so funny and great--nearly as good as the ones from "Once More With Feeling." And Neil can sing great, which we already knew. But Nathan can actually sing, too, which was shocking, and Felicia was pretty good, too, though I couldn't really understand the words either one were singing in that last song--I'll need to download the songs and listen to them to figure it all out, though I'm sure they were hilarious.
I'm so impressed by how professional it all was for it basically being a home video. And I'm already totally invested in their characters and cannot wait for tonight at eleven when I can see the next installment!

2. I may be wrong, but I really don't think the writers mean for there to be anything at all romantic going on between Matt and Mohinder.
3. Adam is so incredibly much cooler than Sylar.

1. I'm not that crazy about Snape and really don't care about his redemption at all. Actually, I thought it was a little lame about the reason Dumbledore being able to trust him was Lilly. I would have liked him to have had some other motivation.
2. Ron FTW. I'm serious. I adore him in absolutely every way. Yes, he makes a lot of mistakes, but he has such a good heart. I don't understand all the Ron-hate.
3. I always thought that the friendships between the Trio were more compelling than any of the various ships.
Sorry if that wasn't too interesting...I tried!
Lovely icon, by the way.

1. I would totally have watched that show if it was just about Red and Kitty. I love them that much.
2. I don't think Hyde deserved Jackie there at the end.
3. The one thing that really, really bugged me about the show was the lack of character development. I mean, sure, it kept being funny for a long time, but I really would have liked it a whole lot better if people started growing up a bit.

1. I love Dawn Summers. And Riley, while not a great character by any stretch of the imagination, was completely necessary to Buffy's character development. She was so desperate for a normal life that for her not to try (too hard) to make it work with a normal guy would be completely unrealistic. As
2. I will willingly admit that Season 2, 3, and 5 are the best in the show, but it is individual scenes from Season 6 and 7 that I rewatch over and over again. Of course, that has a lot to do with Spike-love. But still. Some of the best scenes come from those maligned seasons.
3. I adore both Spike and Angel. But not together in a romantic sense. Do you know how rare that is? People either hate one or the other or ship them. Crazy.

2. I think every season was slightly different. Season one was ... almost like Joss's expirementing season. He had no idea what he was doing, and it had so much potential and thank god that potential was used. And I like the whole Faith thing in later seasons ... *grins*
3. Oh god. One time, I was inbtween this shipping war on Spuffy and Buffy/Angel. Oh. My. God. *hides*

3. That is just terrifying. I try to avoid things like that.

2. Oh god. Can you imagine the horror if Buffy was never developed?! WHAT WOULD FANBASE SCREAM OVER?!!!!!!
3. The capslock ... the swearing ... *shudders* Please make it go away ... please ...

2. I KNOW!
3. Sounds terrifying.

2. The thought alone scares me.
3. *hides* Oh my god ... and they made up silly little insults to one another ... that was the only funny thing.
