lirazel: An outdoor scene from the film Picnic at Hanging Rock ([dw] a kiss with a fist)
lirazel ([personal profile] lirazel) wrote2011-09-28 11:06 am

sometimes my brain is exhausting to live in

I am annoyed with myself that I didn't think of this BEFORE I posted my Fall Fandom Free-for-all requests.

Because I have now decided that the thing I want most in the world is a fic where Amy and Rory are settled down and living just a normal life but they're both (especially Amy) just sort of itchy for something to happen and then some sort of aliens invade and Martha and Mickey show up to save the day and then the Ponds and the Smith-Joneses team up and become the ultimate!married-couple!alien-fighter-squad. And then maybe they meet Donna, who's been kind of Sarah Jane-ing it herself, because she can't help noticing that Things Are Not Normal in the world, but she still doesn't remember anything but she can't help but try to help people, and she joins the team. And River drops in sometimes and Amy gets to give her lectures involving the words "young lady!" but also they get to be silly badass women together and River is totally a daddy's girl (because nothing's better than Rory and River bonding), and obviously Eleven drops in now and then, too, and there's much Eleven-and-River banter and also silliness. And eventually the couples both have kids and Amy and Rory's son ends up marrying Martha and Mickey's daughter and they become the next generation of the ultimate!married-couple!alien-fighter-squad, obviously teaming up with a grown-up Alfie-aka-Stormaggedon who has obviously married Gwen and Rhys's daughter (I don't even watch Torchwood, how do I know about this? I love you, fandom osmosis). Obviously.

And if Sally Sparrow wanted to show up sometimes and if somehow Rita from "The God Complex" hadn't actually died (or, like, an alternate version of her from another universe shows up or something) and they both join the team, I wouldn't complain at all about that, either.

UUUUGH BRAIN STOP GIVING ME AWESOME IDEAS THAT WILL NEVER ACTUALLY HAPPEN MY LIFE IS A LIFE OF DISSATISFACTION I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF I SPELLED THAT RIGHT I JUST HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS.

HAHAHA! Maybe after I actually get around to watching Torchwood I will? Wouldn't it be lovely?

And YES! Eleven + babies = greatest thing ever. I would watch a show about Eleven and babies. I cannot imagine a better show.

Well Miracle Day (which Anwen is in), is crap, but watch S1-3 of Torchwood by all means. Actually MD is almost worth it just for Gwen being AWESOME...

Oh, sad! I know that Children of Earth was supposed to be fantastic, so it's sad that it got bad again. So weird, that kind of unevenness.

I am certain I'll get around to the show at some point, it just hasn't happened yet...

Children of Earth is fantastic. I didn't have *ridiculously* high hopes for MD, but the end reminded me of the stupidity of s8... /o\

Anyway, the rest is good. So I shall cheer you on every step of the way. :)

Oh, please, this, except Martha's also polyamoring it up with Tom the paediatrician who becomes blokish BFFs with Rory.

Also, Donna isn't available for crimefighting, because Donna's away getting adopted by Count and Countess Vorkosigan and saving the world there.

(Did you read Bujold's Vorkosigan saga? I seem to dimply remember you liked it. I read it recently and am utterly infatuated and then I read a Vorkosigan/Who crossover that was objectively awesome but hurt my souuuul and anyway I've been spending creepy amounts of time since then fusing the various seasons of Who with various books from the saga.)

Oh, Doctor Tom! Whenever I see Tom Ellis, I just want to shout "GARY IS LOVELY!"

Hahaha! That would be awesome for Donna.

I have read the two Cordelia books and loved them lots, but I haven't read the Miles ones yet. I definitely mean to at some point.

Gah, I just love fandom, giving us crossovers.

The Miles ones are kind of... exhausting, at first, but then you get to Memory and everything is shining and and perfect forever. (Or at least until Diplomatic Immunity.)

My personal bet is you'll love Komarr above all the other books.

If you don't mind, I kinda wanna play around with this a bit. I'm not promising anything, but if something does come out of it, I'll let you know, 'kay? :)

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2011-09-28 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh! Have at it! Fandom is our playground--I can always do something with it later myself if I want to, and if you do come up with anything, I'll be thrilled to read it! :D

Your premise is awesome with a side of awesome sauce and I want to be reading it right this minute!

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2011-09-28 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I KNOOOOOW.

I do this to myself all the time--thinking up awesome premises for things that I know neither I nor anyone else will ever write. It's torture1

I want this, and now I feel bad about commenting on your Fandom Free-For-All post and making it so you can't edit!

That whole scenario is totally awesome cakes! I love "former companions" meet up and save the world ideas.

I've already written a bit of Stormageddon's Alfie's future.
