Picspam: Disney Ladies Casting

So a couple of weeks ago, Sadie and I were having a typically silly conversation about who has an excellent enough face to play Rapunzel in a live-action version of Tangled. And, being Sadie (aka: ridiculously ridiculous and evil), she challenged me to cast ALL the Disney ladies. "I don't even care about Disney that much!" I shouted. But the casting director in me got the better of me, and now here I am with the most random picspam ever.

This was fun but also challenging (especially finding someone who was actually Roma for Esmeralda, since I had dedicated myself to getting ethnicities right as well. Oh, also getting the right ages was hard at times as well, but this is fantasy anyways, so it's not like it matters). So...here we go.

*Before I get any slamming of Emmy Rossum, I need to say this: she absolutely can act. Just watch her in Shameless if you don't agree. Girl is awesome.

adlkjadflj this is fantastic and a super neat idea. I especially like your Saoirse Ronan, Kristen Bell, and Georgie Henley choices. Emma Watson as Cinderella isn't something I would ever have thought of, but I like it, and Dianna Agron as Aurora is perfect! Aren't you also a fan of The Swan Princess? :D

I would never have thought of Georgie Henley and Saoirse Ronan, but yesssss. And I have a huge girlcrush on Olivia Wilde so a special YES to her as Megara. (And to me Armie Hammer is Hercules, so the thought of them together = unf.)

Emmy Rossum as Belle! Belle is one of my favorites, and I just discovered Emmy’s acting skills, so I approve!

I'm going to slam Emmy Rossum anyways. It has nothing to do with her ability to act or not so, but the fact that Belle is my absolute favoite and Emmy has just always bothered me.

That being said, I love most of your other choices. Amber as Tiana! Dianna as Aurora! Emma as Cinderella! And Karen being the Little Mermaid might be the only thing to get me to rethink my hatred of that movie ever.

That being said, I'd love to see you cast the Disney princesses as well. If only because I like pretty people.

Kbell IS Tinkerbelle. It's in her friggen' name. And even though I'm generally not fond of her, but Keira Knightly has Jane's exact nose. And Olivia Wilde is Megara. And Emma Stone has those classic Don Bluth eyes of Anastasia. Have you thought of posting on tumblr?

These are impressive! I'm impressed. The Tangled actress in particular (which movie I just saw this weekend!) is dead-on. I didn't think anyone in real life could possibly look like Rapunzel (I'm well and tired of the huge huge Disney eyes), but you nailed it!

Also especially liked the Jasmine, Tinkerbell, and Aurora casting, and the Jane and Megara ones looked nice, too, although I can't say for certain because I haven't seen either of those. (I mean to watch Tarzan one of these days, though. I'm told the soundtrack is excellent.)
