random complaint of the day

You know what I hate? When I read the summary of a story and think, "Wow! That sounds awesome! I’ve been waiting forever for someone to write this story!" And then you start reading it and it’s so badly written that you can’t even continue.

Like, it’s a form of torture. Worse than the story not existing at all.

*sob*

So, so true. And like someone said above, this is what drove me to start writing fic, 'cause there is so much awesome fic out there, but it usually illuminates things I'd never think to want (Spike/Buffy mpreg hi) rather than what I want to see my characters explore for the sake of my own twisted brain. But when you read enough fics that sound like what you truly in your heart of hearts want to read, and then you just can't get through them, it makes you decide to write it yourself and be done with it. Of course, there's also asking an awesome writer who asks for prompts and is awesome to write it (cough*Spike&Snape mpregSnick*cough). :)
