GREETINGS, CHILDREN

You should all be doing this now:

Because it's a chance to FIX EVERYTHING.

And yes, yes, I have already written Sam/Ainsley fic and asked for more and demanded that people write me Jackie/Hyde fic, because I AM LIKE THAT.

DO IT.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] anythingbutgrey for turning her misfortune into a fic-a-thon!

but actually. that's all i'm doing rn.

i will never get over this ship. i am so upset it took me until six years after the show was over to ship them, because now i've missed all of fandom and i just have to play with the tiny remnants that are left. it's not like the btvs fandom - that business never dies. ats is tiny and ignored and MY BABYYYYY and i just wish there were more folks around to me to grab by the hand and steer toward this ship. i am really quite good at ship conversion. if there is one thing i learned from the twilight fandom, it was that.

I always get to fandoms too late. Thank God BtVS isn't dead or I don't know what I'd do. But I am totally that way about The West Wing. I would seriously be SO IN to that fandom if it were still around and be forcing people to write me Sam/Ainsley fic liek whoa. So I share your sadness.

Dude! Start it up again! There have to be enough people around who love it. I doubt I'd write any more TWW fanfic, but I'd totally squee about it and quote like a mad thing.

I have no idea how to go about reviving a fandom! But it would be awesomely fun.

I didn't know that you wrote TWW fic! Which characters did you write?

Hehhhhhhhh. I wrote ensemble fic, mostly, with a total self-insert which is why I never posted it with some Sam/Donna and I totally ship Josh/me. It was a lot of between the lines type stuff, post-ep or missing scenes, up through mid-season 5, at which point Donna ran off with Sam and it became wildly AU, lol.

Ha! It sounds like you had a lot of fun with it! I have similar self-inserts in my head, which I never end up writing down, but I think it's part of loving a fandom a whole whole lot.

I think it's also part of "OMG I want to work in the White House someday." I fanficced myself into my chosen career, since that was when I was deciding to go into politics. :)

And you really couldn't find better people to work with!

That's so cute!

And yeah--watching the show makes me kind of depressed because I just don't believe that most people who go into politics are as good of people as that cast was. Not that there aren't a lot of good people who do, it's just that most of them don't make it as far because corruption gets you further.

Haha, yeah, I vacillate wildly between inspiration and depression watching this show. I have met some people who are as dedicated and well-intentioned as these characters, but I've met plenty of people who are... not.
