Meme time

I'm having one of those nights where I can't concentrate on anything and nothing holds my interest and basically I'm just twiddling my thumbs waiting till it's late enough so that I can reasonably go to sleep (side effect of depression? I'm going with yes, since this literally never happened to me before I hit this place).

Since there has been much discussion of A) the definition of OTP and B) Cordy/Angel on my flist of late, both of which I've enjoyed tremendously, let's do this one, okay?

Snagged from [livejournal.com profile] anythingbutgrey, she of the awesome Buffyverse thoughts.

FIVE FACTS FROM MY PERSONAL CANON MEME. ask me about a pairing, i'll give you some factoids.

Let's try to stick to pairings I actually like, okay? Feel free to ask me how I feel about a given one.

And hopefully I'll, like, actually get around to answering them.

Also, I have a new layout. I think it's pretty while also being unobtrusive. I wanted something less busy and a bit easier to read. [livejournal.com profile] penny_lane_42[livejournal.com profile] penny_lane_42[livejournal.com profile] penny_lane_42

No, I get what you're saying! I definitely don't think we're to far apart here--I've always talked about it this way: I think my parents are soulmates in that right now there's no one else for them. But they didn't start out that way. They've spent the last twenty-five years becoming soulmates. Like you say about souls matching up. It involves a lot of hard work and it isn't at first sight (though I believe in profound attraction at first sight, that's not love--love is so much deeper and more faithful and committed and sacrificial than that). And I don't believe in destiny (I'm about as far from Calvinist as you can get and still be Christian. TEAM FREE WILL) myself but real, powerful love is definitely something I can get behind.

the powers that be made those kids fall in love because it served the mission. not real. THE SECOND I CAME TO THIS CONCLUSION IT BECAME MY CANON AND I WILL NEVER LET IT GO EVER.

I AGREE WITH THIS COMMENT.
