I AM A DORK

So I'm just bopping along, minding my own business, watching The X-Files as I am wont to do these days (blame FMM, no duh!), and all of a sudden I had to pause it and run here and flail because A) I needed to get it out of my system, and B) y'all are the only people I know who might possibly not think I'm crazy for this level of excitement.

BUT OMG A VERY YOUNG MARK A. SHEPPARD IS IN THIS EPISODE AND HE IS SETTING PEOPLE ON FIRE WITH HIS MIND OR SOMETHING I DON'T EVEN KNOW.

People, you do not even know the depth of my love for this man. Like, he's tied with J.K. Simmons as my current favorite character actor (and Anna Maxwell-Martin, too, though she's been in less stuff and sometimes has leading-ish roles and such).

And I couldn't even decide what icon to use, he's been on so many of my shows! BSG? Firefly? Heck, he's been on Supernatural, and it's a good thing I don't have a Leverage icon (which, by the way, why don't I have an icon of Parker and Hardison? I mean, I kind of haven't watched the show at all this season, but WHO CARES. I still love them liek woah). I went with the Gaius/Six one because Gaius is awesome. And played by a British man. Yes.

Okay.

Now I'm going to...go watch the episode.

I saw his name at the beginning of the episode and got so excited! And then there he was! With really bad hair!

Things about this show: Scully is a badass, Mulder is pretty, and I am enjoying it. :)

scully is such a fucking badass. i am, as you know, obsessed with her. and my obsession with gillian anderson is separate SO IT'S LIKE TWO OBSESSIONS IN ONE IDEK BUT FIERCE WOMAN IS FIERCE i can't talk about it.

Gillian Anderson continues to be really, really cool (getting cast in Bleak House? And then, apparently, KNOCKING IT OUT OF THE PARK? WIN), and I'm definitely falling for Scully. I will keep you updated on my reactions to her.

One thing, though: so far, it's been pretty basic procedural. Does it start to develop more of a continuous story, or does it stay stand-alone? Because while I'm liking it a lot, I don't know that I could ever love a show that's purely stand-alone.

perfect woman is perfect. i can't talk about it. one time she was all

The fears that live inside of us, whatever they are, and however they manifest, prevent us from living our highest potential, as individuals, and as contributors to the human race. If we consciously and vigilantly transmute those fears through compassion for others, and for ourselves, we will know what it is to live a peaceful existance on this planet.

and my life was changed a little.

okay, x-files goes like this:

there are two kinds of episodes - monster of the week (motw, ala buffy), and mytharc which is, unsurprisingly, about the mythology arc. in s1 it's all rather motw as i recall, but the mytharc eps and the motw eps sort of blend together into one overarching myth by the end of the show anyway. so, no, it doesn't stay stand-alone. personally, i prefer the non-mytharc eps actually because they tend to be more shippy in the first three seasons, but then by season four the shippy is just EVERYWHEREALLTHETIME so it doesn't really matter anyway. epic otp is epic etc.

That is a fantastic quote. More love!

Okay, good! I just like the idea of having an overarching story. A lot of my favorite Buffy stories are motw, but I like the idea of character development and such through more mytharc sorts of things.

And I always look forward to a new ship!
