Grabbing a few seconds to say it first...
Because I don't believe in jinxing:
Y'all, unless The Big Bang Theory fandom is way, way more massive than I think it is, Buffy is totally going to win Fandom Steel Cage Match this year! SHE REALLY, REALLY IS!
Watch her being all cute and modest!

She just kills me with her adorableness!
I must say, though, that I'm really depressed that Scully couldn't somehow make it to the final round...and that I have the pilot of The X-Files downloaded and waiting for me when I get home tonight!

i am also v. sad the scully campaigning has stopped. that shit was AWESOME AND I LOVED IT AND NEXT YEAR I WILL RETURN WITH MORE GIFS. i kind of want to be friends with everyone on team scully.
brb making a comment about that. I DON'T CARE THAT SCULLY IS GONE, I CANNOT LET GO.

Hey, once I finish watching the show and I'm totally in Scully-love (cause I know that's going to happen), I'm returning to those threads and checking out all the campaigning. I look forward to it.
DON'T LET GO. IT'S COOL!

I AM ATTACHED. ALL THESE DUMB BITTIES ARE LIKE 'I WAS TEAM SCULLY UNTIL SHE WENT UP AGAINST BUFFY DO I COUNT?' AND I'M LIKE 'NO' only i told them yes but really NO.

only i told them yes but really NO.
You crack me up so much!
But I have to warn you: I doubt she'll supplant Buffy in my affections. She can be thisclose, though!

Okay, okay. I'm going to vote for Veronica on a purely statistical decision, since I'm pretty sure Buffy will win.

I approve of this plan. Veronica needs love, too!

Pixar's forthcoming "The Bear and the Bow," directed by Pixar's first female director, Brenda Chapman, and starring Reese Witherspoon.
That sounds promising, though! Pixar! With a female lead! I'm excited! Though if it doesn't do well, you know that they'll blame that on the female director.
ARGH! PATRIARCHY!

I just want to beat my head against a wall. As soon as one movie about a girl fails, Disney's all up in arms about boys not wanting to watch it! Oh noes! Never mind the MASSIVE POPULARITY of the Disney Princesses (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, etc). No, Disney, I think there were other problems with The Princess and the Frog (namely, sucky marketing and probably just a bit of unconscious racism on the audience's part).
Seriously, they create their own problem. They assume boys won't be interested in stories about girls (icky!) so they pander to them with male heroes. So the boys are socialized into rigid gender roles and become used to seeing male heroes and are uninterested in seeing female heroes. Thus we get the adult movie audience that apparently will not watch a female protagonist (unless her name is "Riply").
Then that audience zooms around and makes the exact same assumptions and starts the process all over.
It's all very stupid.
And insulting.
And damned frustrating (cause you know I want to see more awesome roles for women in movies and TV).

(namely, sucky marketing and probably just a bit of unconscious racism on the audience's part).
Agreed. It was a charming movie. Not as great as some of the other Disney films, but very likable.
As for the rest of your comment: OH YES YES YES. You're so right. SO RIGHT.
I feel like I need an icon that says something about my feminist fury.

But Buffy and I appreciate your vote!

And those voting for Bones would hopefully vote for Buffy. *fingers crossed*

But I'm happy Buffy might take the whole thing! God knows she deserves a lot of love and praise. Yes, yes!

Can I spoil you because it'll make the Spike/Buffy love story better?

Joey totally picks Pacey in the end. Spike was WRONG. Which just goes to show that Buffy will end up with Spike because BtVS is totally based on Dawson's Creek, don't you know? :P

Awww, I'm so happy she's making it into the final round. It's good to see Buffy getting some love from the fandom.
I hope you enjoy the XF pilot! It's from 1993 and parts of it look so dated now, like Scully's awful suits and in later episodes, the cellphones that look like they are as big as the actors heads. But I think the story still works mostly, and baby-faced Scully and Mulder are the most adorable things ever.

... Oh my god. Not all the Buffy adorableness in the world could fix this sense of betrayyl.
