Yeah, there's no way it can actually be true that he is Twilight. That would be awful and stupid. I think there must be something else going on.
All I can say is that the comics don't always depict exactly what's happening in the story. Yeah, I feel like there have been times when people freaked out before about things that turned out not to be at all what they looked like. I assume that's what's going on here.
But I think what we can say is that Angel is coming into Season 8. Not flashback!Angel or dream!Angel, but present day Angel. I know I have no right to demand things, especially since I'm not actually reading S8, but I feel like if they do bring Angel around, then they'll have to address whether Buffy knows that Spike's alive. It would be glaringly obvious if they didn't.
