lirazel: An outdoor scene from the film Picnic at Hanging Rock ([bs] Ring Ring)

I never knew my verbosity went this far

So. Apparently, I have written so many fics that I can't fit them all in one sticky post. For some reason, this makes me depressed, maybe because of my inability to complete any of the novels I've been meaning to write for years (though! I'm super excited about the one I'm sort-of-kind-of working on! It's this Southern Gothic fantasy thing with ghosts and roadtrips and cousins and probably Civil War reenactors. And crazy, scary trees. Because I'm like that).

So I'm working on overhauling my Master List of Fics, and I'm thinking of putting drabbles and crossovers together in one post. Though I fear this will lead to them being neglected.

Anyways, because I should be working my Yuletide fic, and because I'm feeling kind of blah because it's dark and rainy and generally nasty outside, I need something to distract me.

So! Drabbles. Ficlets. Whatever you want to call them. I'm offering. Give me a fandom, a character/pairing, and a prompt. And this time, no Buffyverse stuff, please? Unless it's a crossover. Then it's acceptable. Things tend to skew heavily Buffy-wards with my flist, which is no surprise, but I want to branch out a bit right now.

Aaaand...GO!

Fandom: Harry Potter
Prompt: Christmas at the Weasleys, 6 months after the end of Book 7, first Christmas without Fred. Harry/Ginny.
Characters: Ensemble, Luna :)

Looking for a little fluff with a little bit of memory :)

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Y'know, I don't think I've ever written a straight Harry/Ginny fic before. I'm written some things where it's taken for granted that Harry's with Ginny and I've written a Ginny-centric fic, but this will be new territory for me!
snickfic: Buffy looking over her shoulder (Firefly)

[personal profile] snickfic 2009-12-02 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Fandom: Firefly
Prompt: Wash & River. He can't quite decide if she's creeping him out.

Or, alternately, something with Wash/Zoe? Something Christmassy, maybe?

You might consider breaking up your sticky post into two - say, one for Buffyverse fic and one for other fandoms.

EDIT: also, can I have some of that dark and rainy and blah? 'Cuz it's 90 in my bedroom right now. Bleah.

That is a good idea. I'll probably end up doing that when I have a block of time in which to reorganize again.

You can have the dark and rainy blah if I can have the 90 degrees! *misses it*
snickfic: (Buffy desert)

[personal profile] snickfic 2009-12-07 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Here. Have some bright shiny desert. (Beings as it's 9:30, it's now down to 84 degrees here. But you are welcome to it. *pines for winter or even a decent autumn*)

it's not a fandom per se, but - could you possibly please please please please write me some Eros/Psyche? Or fluffy Hades/Persephone. Or Athena genfic? Or anything. I NEED GREEK MYTHFIC IN MY LIFE OKAY.

(except Heracles, I hate Heracles)

Alternatively, I should like to read something about Dean Thomas.

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Also, HOW DID YOU KNOW that I've always wanted to write both Eros/Psyche and Hades/Persephone???? HOW DID YOU KNOW?

[identity profile] caboca.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Because clearly you are awesome.

(When I was a wee wenchie, Psyche was my favourite heroine ever. Although I also loved Aphrodite, who is just so delightfully, unabashedly mean.)

More replies later, but for now: it's up!

Chocolate chip ice cream cake, so there.

And clearly this is going to be the best thing ever.

May I ask - and this is me trying very hard to be non-manipulatory - how you feel about showing people your original work before it's done?

On a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is "I would rather eat manticores dipped in peanut butter" and 10 is "possibly, if I were drunk enough"?

I do totally get if you're the private-writer sort of person - I am, most of the time. I do love reading WIPs, it's such a special feeling, but my abilities of concrit are patchy - I am honest about flaws I spot, but I'm not a flawspotty person by nature, and I squee often and loudly. I do have the uncanny ability to encyclopaedically memorise other people's characters though?

So this is an offer, not a request, and I sort of advise you against taking it, but, yeah. So. Can I see, can I see, can I see?

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
You were very good at the non-manipulatory-ness! Go you!

Well...I don't have much of it actually written now. I spend a lot of time planning things in my head, so it's barely moved passed that stage now. However, when I've got some more written, I might be willing to pass along some scenes and such to get your opinion, which I would value highly.

So, I would say on a scale of 1 to 10, it's probably a 4 for people in general but a 7 for you, and when I get more written...we shall see!

Oh shoot! Am I too late?

I would really love a Mad Men fic. Joan and Roger would be great. Or Joan being awesome.

That sounds fab! Civil War reenactors tickle me so much.

Promopt...if you don't mind writing for Skins for the first time...something about Tony Stonem clashing and/or bonding with Veronica Mars? *grins*

Oh, and as for the prompt-y words: pirate smiles

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
I'm thrilled that it sounds good to you! And yeah, Civil War reeanctors are so ridiculously Southern. I think about them, and they're so kind of ridiculous, and I'm like, "Yeah. We would do that." And then I shake my head.

I would love to try my hand at Skins! And I love Tony hard, so we'll see what would happen if he met Veronica!

Also: pirate smiles. "Tiny Dancer." I love you.

Alright, are you still accepting drabble requests? Cause if you are...

Harry Potter: Remus Lupin, after the death of Sirius Black.

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Sure! It should be up soonish! I've got it finished, but I want to post it with the other HP one I'm writing, so look for it soon!
