I really need to quit watching so much television....
I really have nothing to say here except that I'm starting to get annoyed with Claire. Girl, you have got to stop with the constantly hurting yourself every episode. Everybody's going to notice, and it's so masochistic. It's one thing to put yourself in danger to help people, it's another just to hurt yourself because you can.
Although, as gross as the toe thing was, at least that made sense. Though I don't think she should have risked it. What if it didn't grow back?
Just like everyone else, I am now in love with this show. Totally and completely. It's very Tim Burton, only prettier and not so depressing. It also reminds me of A Series of Unfortunate Events, only with brighter colors. And Amelie and wonderfulness. I just want to look at this show for the rest of my life. I want to live in this show, really.
And the sense of humor is dark and fun. I don't typically like voice-over narration, but it just works for this show.
The cast is great. Lee Pace is insanely adorable. I have the biggest crush on him already. And Anna Friel is too cute with him. Oh, and Kristen Chenoweth! Who even knew she was going to be in this? She suits it so well! Especially her voice--this is totally the show for her.
I can't wait to see where they take this, if they can keep up this level of writing through the whole season. If they can, I will give my soul over to it forever.
When I watched it the first time, I was trying to get homework done at the same time, so I wasn't totally engaged, so I wasn't all that impressed. But I recently re-watched it on the CW website, and now I actually have stuff to say. Quite a bit of stuff, actually.
Yay for Hell’s Bells! I love AC/DC. And when I was watching on line, a little window would pop up at the bottom and say “Music in this scene: Bachman-Turner Overdrive: “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet.” How exciting is that?
Poor Sam, having to see what he had to see. Almost as bad as walking in on your parents, really. And I think it’s adorable that he’s reading all the Faust legends to see if he can figure something out to save his brother. What a cutie.
“I am in violent agreement with you there.” Such a great Dean line. Love him. And eating a cheeseburger for breakfast. And Bobby calling him out on it.
They didn’t get the sound of the cicadas just right, but I’ll forgive them that. Not everybody grows up hearing that all summer. Though it did remind me of fifth grade when we had one of those thirteen-year cycles when we have a literal plague and they cover everything. The boys would shake them out of the trees and they would get in our hair and we would run away squealing and screaming. Not fun stuff.
Could those people be that decomposed in only five days? I’m skeptical.
Looooove Tamara’s accent. And she and Isaac are were pretty cute. He reminded me a lot of Samuel L. Jackson as Mace Windu. I was sad when he died. What a horrific way to die! Poor thing!
I really do like the idea of the Seven Deadly Sins as these seven demons. It was fresh and original. I just wish they’d spread it over a few more episodes. It didn’t have to end in this one. They don’t have to throw away storylines like that.
“Dean, What are you doing?”
“Comforting the bereaved. What are you doing?”
“Working.”
But then the “See? I’m working.”? Love.
Bobby in his suit! Hahaha! I love Bobby!
Dean and his death wish? Not so hot. I know you’ve only got a year to live, honey, but make it count. Don’t go throw your life away early.
I adore how practical Bobby is.
I’d totally been crossing my fingers that Sammy would pull a Peter Petrelli and get a haircut. No such luck. Puppy, darlin’, cut your hair.
How smart was Dean and the bathtub thing?
I don’t like Hunter!Girl. At all. Sooooo Mary Sue, I cannot even tell you. I’ll give her a second chance, Kripke, because I love you, but I make no guarantees.
So nice to see the boys salting and burning again. It seems like it had been a long time.
More fun from the bottom of the screen: A poll. Which is your favorite
The talk between Sam and Dean at the end was great. Exactly what I love about this show. And Dean: “After everything I’ve done for this family, I think I’m entitled.” I am so madly in love with that line. Makes me want to write fic. Right now.
So, all in all, I'm satisfied.I just hope they do right by us for the rest of the season.
Not going to lie. This is the one I was looking most forward to. And the one I have the most mixed feelings about.
For some reason, it felt different. Like the cinematography wasn't as gritty. The credits were different, and I'm not a big fan of that. It just felt different.
I love that Tami had her baby within the first six or seven minutes of the show—no dragging it out over the whole episode. And that Coach was actually there. I felt sooooo bad for Tami, having to do all this alone. Coach is gone (seriously, babe, bad decision on your part), Julie’s going through a selfish stage, and Tami’s just trying to get by. She’s my hero now more than ever. And how funny were she and Julie at the pool at the beginning?
I love Coach, but he needs to come back. I wonder how long it will take him to realize that everything he needs is in Dillon. He was so cute with the new baby. So. Dang. Cute.
I was sooo angry with Julie this episode. That other guy is skeezy looking and Matt is, as she said, perfect. I can understand her fear of turning into her mother, but she does not need to toy with Matt’s heart if she’s going to try to stay away from that fear. Tell him you need space, sweetheart, then take that space to think about what you want to do with your life—away from skeezy musician/lifeguard dude. And the whole talking back/being rebellious thing? So not Julie. I understand that she’s mad at her dad—and I think she has some right to be—but the old Julie would have that with for him before resorting to typical teenage behavior. I always loved her relationship with her parents and how mature she was, but she’s not acting that way now. That scene between her and Coach, though, was fantastically written and acted. I wholeheartedly approved.
How kickass was Lyla in her praying scene? I adore it; I think I’m starting to actually really like her. I hope that they treat her new conversion with respect and don’t treat her like a crazy religious freak like any other show would do. One of the things that I love most about this show is that it doesn’t present
Poor Tyra! I nearly started bawling at the look on Adrianne’s face every time Mr. Evil Stalker showed up. And yay for Landry for coming to her rescue. But how could they possibly be stupid enough to dump his body in the river? I mean, seriously. That was guy was going to rape Tyra, and I have no doubts that he would seriously hurt Landry if he could/had to. There wasn’t really anything wrong in what Landry did—he was trying to protect himself and Tyra. So why, in completely lazy, cliché form on the side of the writers, try to hide it? The smart thing would have been to call the police, explain what happened, and then face the consequences. This is so going to come back to bite them in the butt. But on the other hand, they’re insanely cute together and Tyra’s haircut is cute, too. Lotta cuteness with those two.
I hate the new coach. And I felt really bad for Jason, having to work for that jerk and also choose between being friends with the players and being their coach—though I do think that is a decision he’s going to have to make.
Not enough Smash. And where’s Waverly?
I hate Buddy Garrity.
How cute and adorable and vulnerable was Matt alone at that party? I wish I was there so I could go up and sit down next to him and keep him company. But there wasn’t enough of him in this episode. It felt like the only thing he did was sit around and angst over Julie. Now, I know you love her and she’s one of the only good things in your life, baby doll, but you’re an awesome guy. If she’s going to be an idiot, you don’t have to sit around and wait for her, honey.
So yeah. Not a fan of Coach being gone. Not a fan of Julie treating Matt the way she is. Not a fan of Tyra and Landry being stupid.Very big fan of Tami. And of Matt. And of Tyra and Landry together and cute. And of Lyla standing up for herself.
I cannot wait till next week.
In other television related news, I'm finally going to finish season 3 of Buffy today. I'm pretty excited.
And I've been working on a Lit fic and been going back and watching all the Jess episodes, which has been a whole lot of fun. But my sister has misplaced the third DVD from the third season which I know has lots of Jess, and I cannot find it. I also can't find a place to watch it online since tv-links.co.uk's provided link is not working. I'm pretty ticked off/disappointed about that. But I'm having a whole lot of fun writing my first Gilmore Girls fic, so I guess it makes up for it.
I love television.

LIT FIC!!!!! LIRAZEL!!!!]My heart just about stopped. You have no idea how happy that makes me.

Good for you, not spoiling yourself for FNL. How far have you gotten?
I'm super excited about my Lit fic (and I knew you would be), but I'm also really nervous. I'm pretty confident about Rory's voice--it's getting Jess right that is such a problem for me. I'm very anxious to see how you like it.
Speaking of which, you seem like you've been pretty busy lately (I think we all have), but when you get a chance, I'd really love to get your thoughts on my Black Donnelly's fic Inertia. I really don't know if I get Jenny and Tommy right, but I tried really hard and had fun writing it. Again, just whenever you get the chance.

It's the one show I'm refusing to spoilerise myself for. I'm only on episode 6 because my torrents are taking forever to download. FOREVER.
it's getting Jess right that is such a problem for me. I'm very anxious to see how you like it.
While I find both of them harder to write than anyone else, Jess is even harder. It's all about getting the balance between the gruff, Lukeish side to him, the New Yorker and the book geek.

*gawks* You wrote BD fic? For serious? HOW DID I NOT KNOW THAT??!?!?!? (that was supposed to convery anger and frustration and headdesking. Just so you know.) You've made my day. See Icon. ↑
*runs off to find*

I'm really glad you're that excited. How did you not know that? I guess because you've been busy? But I'm very glad you're excited.
And your icon? So much love. I looooove the Muppets. And that one is so much fun. I feel like that a lot.

They didn’t get the sound of the cicadas just right, but I’ll forgive them that. Not everybody grows up hearing that all summer. Yeah, I noticed that too. They just weren't...cicada-y enough, which is to say starting and stopping every five minutes and cresendoing into an earsplitting roar. Are there cicadas in Canada, anyways? Somehow, I doubt it.
Could those people be that decomposed in only five days? I’m skeptical. Not to that level, certainly. o_O Was it really supposed to only have been five days? I thought for sure it was like three weeks or something. Maybe if you're lazy you die faster?
Looooove Tamara’s accent. And she and Isaac are were pretty cute. He reminded me a lot of Samuel L. Jackson as Mace Windu. I was sad when he died. What a horrific way to die! Poor thing!Yeah, Tamara was pretty cool, and so was her accent. I wasn't as big a fan of Isaac, but I did feel horrible about the bleach thing (for the fiftieth time: EWWWWWWWW!).

Though I am interested with what Dean (at least, I think it was Dean) brought up...if they unleashed the seven deadlies, what else could they have accidentally set free? Oooh, that could be fun.
All your Bobby comments are dead on. I love Bobby. Hopefully it looks like we get to see more of him than ever this season!
Woo for TV!
I just hope they do right by us for the rest of the season. Couldn't have said it better myself.

But anyways.
Yeah, I noticed that too. They just weren't...cicada-y enough, which is to say starting and stopping every five minutes and cresendoing into an earsplitting roar. Are there cicadas in Canada, anyways? Somehow, I doubt it. Okay, you just made me feel better about myself because I thought that was just me being weird and no one else noticed that. I am so glad you did.
Not to that level, certainly. o_O Was it really supposed to only have been five days? I thought for sure it was like three weeks or something. Maybe if you're lazy you die faster? I remember them saying something about hell opening five days before, and then a little later in the episode they said that the guy who turned out to be envy had disappeared a week ago--the night the Hellmouth opened up (and yes, I will continue to call it the Hellmouth, just because). But I could be wrong.
I wasn't as big a fan of Isaac, but I did feel horrible about the bleach thing (for the fiftieth time: EWWWWWWWW!). Yeah, I didn't really like him all that much till after he died. Maybe it was just sympathy because he died so horrifically. And amen to the ewww.
I know! I wish they'd done more with the idea--we only got a few glimpes of it. Though I am interested with what Dean (at least, I think it was Dean) brought up...if they unleashed the seven deadlies, what else could they have accidentally set free? Oooh, that could be fun. I completely agree with everything you said.
I love Bobby, too. He's way fun.
Woo for TV is right!

Wow. It's so CUTE, in an insanely morbid sort of way. I really, really love the cast, the premise, the music, and Jim Dale as the voiceover! Just....wow. I totally know what you mean about the Tim Burton/Series of Unfortunate Events thing...I wouldn't be surprised at all if Lemony Snicket was secretly helping write the show.
Lol, the poor dog. "You don't mind that I don't pet you...right?"
Aww, thanks for reccommending it. I'm so excited to see where it goes!

And you're right about that poor, poor dog. ;)
Nice icon. ;)
