Soooo much nostalgia. Apparently she did it because her new book that's coming out is set in the early 2000s, which makes me look forward to it even more.
Yes, Whedon definitely gave me experience is disengaging from a creator, though of course the JKR thing is on a much, much bigger scale. Thankfully even though I've loved HP for years, I didn't build any part of my identity around it like I did with Joss's stuff, so I'm mostly just disgusted and disappointed instead of heartbroken, but I feel so terrible for all the people who are heartbroken.
And yes, agreed about Andrew and "Storyteller." I remain fond of Andrew (I think more because of the actor than the writing) and that episode is really well-written, but in retrospect...pretty gross.
