Faith, Hope, & Trick. :)

Seriously? It's that far after the fact? Wow.

Thanks!

Oh, duh. *forehead smack* I read your question wrong - that's the ep when Buffy tells Giles that Angel got his soul back.

I think everyone else must be right about "Innocence."

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2009-08-11 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, even if you read it wrong, you were right about what you read wrong.

Wow. What a sentence.

Thanks anyway!

I thought that was when she told Giles and Willow that she had to kill Angel after he got his soul back.

Didn't they all find out Buffy and Angel shagged to soullessness right after the fact? I thought it was in Innocence.

Jenny: Moment of happiness, blah blah.
Willow: *wide eyed* OH!
Giles: What? What oh? I don't understa-- OH!
Buffy: *so uncomfortable*

Yeah, I just looked at the transcript for "F, H, & T," and I think you're right.

But I thought there was a scene where Buffy and Giles talk about the whole Angel thing and it's really touching and he's very understanding. Am I hallucinating that scene?

[identity profile] afterthree.livejournal.com 2009-08-11 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm... not sure. Something like this is ringing a bell, but I can't say when it is. *thinks*

that's at the end of innocence- i think you mean the scene in the car?

i love that scene. : )

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2009-08-11 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, yes, yes! That's it! It wasn't in the summary of the episode that I read, but I just found the transcript, and that's totally the one! Thank you!

[identity profile] radio-silent.livejournal.com 2009-08-11 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
you're welcome!

Yeah, I'm by no means an expert on Buffy, having only discovered it recently, but I feel like I remember that scene because it made no think "Oh no, do not wants, that's like your dad finding out something about your sex life."

"Shagged to soulessness"- LOL!

[identity profile] afterthree.livejournal.com 2009-08-11 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
They have a similar conversation, complete with the OHs when Xander and Faith do the nasty, too. You can almost see Giles thinking OMG I REALLY NEED SOME FRIENDS MY OWN AGE.

[identity profile] callmepatsy.livejournal.com 2009-08-11 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I remember that one, because Willow is like "OKAY YEAH I GET IT, SEX, CAN WE STOP TALKING ABOUT THE BOY I LIKE SHAGGING THE SLUTTY GIRL NOW."

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2009-08-11 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Poor Giles. He really, really does need some friends his own age. Besides sporadic visits from Ethan (who's evil) and Olivia (who breaks up with him), do we ever see him really interacting with anyone his age? I don't think so.

Just Joyce. And I love how, the season after, Buffy discovers the full extent of their Band Candy shenanigans.

Giles walking into that tree is brilliance.

Band Candy is the definition of awesome. There are no words.

Giles walking into that tree is brilliance. Yes! I personally love when she asks him what a stevedore is.

It's in Innocence. Buffy does say it explicitly, but it's strongly implied:

Buffy: (shakes her head) I should've known. When I saw him at the
house, he was different. The things he said...

Giles: What things?

Buffy: It's private.

Jenny: But you didn't know he had turned bad?

Willow: (looks at Jenny) How did you?

Jenny: (looks at Willow) What?

Willow: Well, you knew. You told me to get away from him.

Jenny: Well, I saw his face.

Giles: If only we knew how it happened. (sits on the table)

Buffy: What do you mean?

Giles: Well, something set it off. Some, some, uh, event must've
triggered his transformation. Well, if anyone would know, Buffy, it-it
should be you.

Buffy: I don't.

Giles: Well, did anything happen last night that, that might...

Buffy: Giles, please, I can't. (runs from the library)

Giles: Buffy, I'm sorry, but we can't afford to... Buffy!

Willow: (watching Buffy run) Giles, shut up.
