lirazel: An outdoor scene from the film Picnic at Hanging Rock ([misc] joss is boss)

"Women: You're leaky, hairy, overweight, and everything hurts!"

I'm feeling particularly feminist today (well, I feel that way every day, but especially today), and [livejournal.com profile] ineffort reminded me of this spoof that is made of awesome.

Watch and enjoy.

[Edited to change it to the one with the men's advert at the end.]

You're welcome!

And yeah, the Brits are great at just nailing it so fast, aren't they?

They are and lol JACKIE. Yeah, I'm never getting over your moodtheme. Every time I look at it, I want to go marathon the show and write future!Jackie/Hyde sans the random wife and Fez (though I love him - just not as a Steven substitute.

JACKIE! She makes me happy! (and that kinda sounds like the beginning of Kelso's "Jackie take me backie" song. Hee!)

want to go marathon the show and write future!Jackie/Hyde sans the random wife and Fez I would love you forever if you did so. My one Jackie/Hyde fic didn't fix the situation. Maybe I should write another one....

Also: agreed on Fez.

that was awesome... I'm on a bit of a posting spree myself over at FB. thought you might like (to read, not the content of) this link:

Glad you enjoyed it!

And that article looks great--I'll check it out. I've been reading quite a bit about rape culture lately, and I'm always on the look-out for new stuff.

Men, shave and get drunk! *g* I always laugh at men's shaving commercials. I mean...Mach 3? Their razor is called "Mach 3"? It breaks the sound barrier? What? How is this at all relevant to shaving??

Very spot-on spoofs. Women constantly being told things are wrong with them and they need to fix it while men are already fine, they just need shit that sounds bad-ass to prove their machoness. Yay.

How is this at all relevant to shaving??

Because breaking the sound barrier is manly! And therefore awesome! And shaving is also manly! And therefore awesome! Duh!

This? Totally made my day. It reminds me of this comic strip:

http://www.viruscomix.com/page407.html

I very much recommend Viruscomix/Subnormality, btw. I think you mentioned you don't read webcomics at some point (?), but this comic strip is delightful, insightful, overly-verbose and very openly feminist. I just wub it, yes I do.

So glad you liked it!

I don't read webcomics on a regular basis, but when somebody links to a specific one, I check it out. It seems like a lot of people link me to xcdsomeother letter. There are letters! And one of them is x! And it's stick figures! That one.

Anyway, this particular one is genius. Thanks for the link--so spot-on. I'll have to remember to look at that one from time to time.

I hate off-feminist days. I am a hyprocrite throwing backandforth the ideas of malea nd female stances in today's society, but man-

That was too awesome.

Hee. Maybe I'm biased because I like accents, and completley loath informmercials that aim specifically at women. Like men aren't zitty and wrinkly and overweight as well. Age is the ulatime diesease, you know.

Haha. I want a cabinet like that!

"Men are already brilliant."

Why does taht strike me as something Barney would say?
