Uh...

Y'all, I'm writing Harry Potter fic again.*

Every. Time. I think I've wiggled free, it reels me in again.  I can't say no to the angst!

This is the last thing I needed.

*headdesk*

*whether it will ever see the light of day is another discussion altogether.

YAYYYYY! I'm so so so glad to hear that. :D If it does see the light of day, I can't wait to read it.♥

You're a sweetheart. And I'm plodding along--it might take a while, but I think it might happen.

Yay!

Oh my goodness, that is the most adorable icon ever. TINY!R/HR! Could anything be as awesome?

So...HP for you is like SW is for me? Those dratted fandoms :P Good luck, but I'm sure it'll turn out awesome anyway ;)

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2009-07-23 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I think so. I think SW is pretty much over forever for me. Well, I'll always love the OT, and I might pull out Traitor or one of Allston's X-wing novels every once in a while, and a big part of me is always going to love Kyp Durron since I'm pretty sure he's what made me a fangirl, but I'm pretty much over it.

HP, on the other hand, for some reason really pulls me in. Probably because there's so many peripheral characters to explore. So much that doesn't happen onscreen. It's kinda like SW in that way, actually.

Thanks!

Fair enough; SW was my first real fandom immersion, and then I always have the characters in my head. Besides, I like the room for epics in a thousand different directions. But I can definitely see moving on--I hardly read SW fic anymore, and have mostly moved on in writing (in theory, at least :P).

I kind of gave up on HP after book 5, but it does have a way of pulling you back in anyway, especially with all the backstories :) You're mostly interested in the Black family, right?

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2009-08-03 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
SW was my intro to fandom as well; the first time I'd ever even heard of it really, and I stumbled upon it quite by accident. I think I just overdosed on it, though your icon is reminding me that I'm never going to get tired of Han/Leia and the OT!

Besides, I like the room for epics in a thousand different directions. Agreed, most definitely.

It's the back stories that really do it for me with HP. The last book was a disappointment, but the world continues to fascinate me. Yes, the Blacks are by far my favorite. I wrote a lot of Ron/Hermione, too, but now that I've written my one post-series piece on them, I don't know that I have any interest in revisiting those two. At the moment, I'm really fascinated by the characters who were left behind at Hogwarts during the last book--Neville and Luna, Dean and Lavender and Seamus and Parvati and everyone else. That's what I'm working on.

I know just how you feel, I grew so sick of HP vids and fic (which I've never written but might start!) but now I started to love them all over again!

Just when you think you're free, huh?

But writing is GOOD. It saves a lot of hardship and what-ifs. DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND THE GOODNESS?!!! It's what makes the world spin so merrily.

YOU'RE RIGHT! VERY, VERY RIGHT! I'LL WRITE!
