icons: first batch
First off: Happy Easter! And a belated happy Passover! And happy spring (or fall, if you're in the Southern Hempisphere)!
Now:
I will never sleep again.
Because I started making icons, y'all. MAKING ICONS. It's so addictive that I've spent hours and hours in the last couple of days thinking, "Just one more." UUUUUUGH.
Anyway! Since these are the first icons I've ever made and this is my first icon post, I'd love some feedback, even though I don't think anyone on my flist is familiar with the shows. Constructive criticism would be great, since I've been trying to teach myself with tutorials. Some of them I'm really proud of, others aren't so great, but hey: it's a start! I decided to include ones that I'm "meh" about in the interests of posterity. I'd especially love some thoughts on the ones where I didn't get the colors quite right, and if you can point me to any tutorials that are super useful, I'd greatly appreciate it.

That said, a lot of these look very nice! If I were to pick a favorite favorite, then it'd be 53, because I love the light on her face.
I don't know anything about graphics, and so don't really have constructive criticism. But hooray for finally being able to make your own!

This is so true. I actually made one more this morning before I left for work. It is compulsively addictively life-ruining.

My personal tips:
- BLEND MODES.
- fix your caps before you do anything else. You will always have to fix them. Promise.
- don't be afraid to experiment!
Also, IDK how fluent you are with Photoshop? If you'd like to Skype and share screens with me sometime, I'd be happy to do a walkthrough with you.

Man, this is the truth. I've been laboring over all of these, and sometimes no matter how hard I work I can't get the coloring right. Ones like 19 just KILL me!
I've actually been using gimp since even though you gave me photoshop, I'm still intimidated by it? I know where everything is in gimp. But I might have to branch out!
