YES IT'S THAT TIME OF THE YEAR AGAIN

And let's be honest, people. It is the Year of Knope.

HERE ARE SOME RANDOM THOUGHTS IT IS MARCH I GET TO LOSE MY MIND.

Here is a list of shows that I don't watch, so I'm unsure of who to vote for. If you're particularly passionate about a certain character (especially if it's a lady), let me know and I will take your passion into consideration when I go back and vote in these categories. YAY!

+ Archer
+ The Big Bang Theory—by which I mean, tell me which character has the best chance of beating Sheldon, please
+ It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
+ New Girl (who is NOT a douche?)
+ Avatar: The Last Airbender (which I have watched some of the first season of, but not enough to have super passionate feelings about anyone)
+ Awkward
+ The O.C.
+ Pretty Little Liars (Kyrie? You watch that, don't you?)
+ Teen Wolf
+ American Horror Story
+ Haven
+ Boardwalk Empire
+ The Wire (I know, I know! But I will watch it one day!)

My Glee vote has gone to Ms. Santana Lopez, which I'm sure most of you will appreciate. I did it for y'all. Because I love you.

My Young Justice vote is reserved for whoever Kyrie tells me to vote for. The end.

I am so impressed with the lady-love in Doctor Who. It's Donna-Amy-Martha right now AND LOOK AT YOUR GOOD TASTE, FANDOM. I could have voted for any of those ladies and been happy! I went with Martha, but seriously: it could have been any of them. Or River.

If you don’t watch Friday Night Lights: VOTE FOR TAMI TAYLOR. She is right 100% of the time. Just ask her husband. And she single-handedly keeps Dillon, Texas from falling to pieces. She is Wonder Woman.

Photobucket

Hardest choice for me? Happy Endings. I went with Brad because I've been remembering and laughing about his Dentist Dance all day, but I could go any direction there (except Dave).

I will be switching my HIMYM vote over from Marshall to Robin. Because I LOVE the idea of her beating Barney, lbr.

I will forever be sad that Emily Gilmore will never win the GG category. *tear*

IF YOU VOTED FOR FRANK GALLAGHER I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU HE IS ACTUALLY THE WORST CHARACTER I HAVE EVER SEEN MY OTP FOR THAT SHOW IS FRANK/DEATH.

I think Penny probably has the best chance of beating Sheldon. I'd be happy with either Penny or Amy, but I just want Sheldon gone (and with him and Barney out that would represent two of my comedy bracket nemeses vanquished! Huzzah!)

Honestly right now I'm too busy sobbing over the fact that SANSA STARK IS WINNING FOR GAME OF THRONES that I can't handle much else right now.

I found it hard to vote for Happy Endings too. I went with Jane, but I'd be happy with Alex, Brad, or Jane. Or Penny, I suppose, even if she doesn't come close to the first three in my heart.

BUT OH MY GOD THEY INCLUDED HARRY POTTER AND THE HUNGER GAMES AND THE AVENGERS CRAP CRAP CRAP THAT CHANGES EVERYTHIIIIIING.

1) Your Emily Gilmore love never fails to make me smile.
2) Re: The Wire, I voted Kima Greggs. She is, well, ridiculously awesome. And Omar has enough fans. Heck, he's got the president.

For Archer, I nominate Pam for ALL THE WIN.

For the Big Bang Theory, I'd go with Amy Farrah Fowler. :)

(I haven't seen the last two seasons of Always Sunny, but I'm guessing Charlie is still a good bet. y/y?).

I voted for Toph in Avatar, because she is one of the most badass of characters ever (however I love everyone on that show so it isn't that big of a deal). But, Toph is really awesome and regularly beats people who are twice (or more) her size and she's also blind but still manages to be one of the most skilled benders in the world.
snickfic: Buffy Dawn weird love is better than no love (Buffy Dawn sister love)

It's hard to go wrong on ATLA. I voted for Zuko because he's, like, complex and stuff, but Toph is indeed really awesome, and Uncle Iroh is so much more badass than you've probably seen yet, and Azula is unapologetically terrifying. And also, who doesn't love a flying bison? Seriously, pretty much all the choices are good choices there.

I'm a little stunned by the lady-love. Has it always been like this? The number of male leads getting whomped by their female sidekicks is kind of blowing me away.

I voted Ainsley Hayes and thought of you, BTW.

HAHAHAHAHA I AM HONORED TO BE IN CHARGE OF YOUR YJ-MAKING DECISIONS. I am currently struggling super-hard in my soul because it's down to my ladies M'gann and Artemis (I do love Zatanna, too, but she hasn't had as much screentime/development yet so I am willing to let her go). I am currently leaning towards M'gann just because she is much more reviled in fandom and the FUCK YOU SHE'S AWESOME factor is strong, but uggggggggh Artemis my prickly sensible sarcastic guilty redemption-seeking beloved. ;__________; BUT ALSO M'GANN IS SO PRECIOUS AND FASCINATING AND KIND AND EARNEST AND SHE LIKES TO BAKE? I'm, uh. Having a hard time, is what I mean to say here. (Probably I am going to go with M'gann though because seriously, man, fandom is such a jerk to her that I WANT TO GET WHAT INEFFECTUAL REVENGE I CAN. ):<)

Also I did read the first four PLL books but have no experience with the show, lolllll. I went with the Santana strategy and gave my vote to Emily Fields, the awesome queer lady of color, so that is who I would recommend if you don't care!

true story: I have never even seen FNL but I voted for Tami Taylor FOR YOU.

Or River.

DONNA NOBLE

MY GIRLFRIEND IS WINNING

WINNIIIIIIIIIING!

(Mostly I threw my votes toward ladies who clearly weren't going to win - Ann and Bonnie and Tonks, <3. BUT DONNA, DONNA FTW.)

I have thoughts!

New Girl: I like Jess alright, but Winston is by far my favorite, and by far the least douchy of the guys.

Pretty Little Liars: VOTE SPENCER HASTINGS. She is 16, and she is still my role model. Smart, determined, neurotic, loving, ruthless -- she is endlessly fascinating and IMO the best part of the show by far.

The Wire: I see you've voted Kima, which is ridiculously reasonable, because Kima Greggs is a badass of the best sort. But going forward -- since it seems clear Omar will get the nom -- I encourage you to vote Omar if you don't have other feeling in the category. The man is endlessly complicated, has a strong moral code despite making a living robbing drug dealers, and while he's not a lady, half of his crew are badass lesbians. (Also he's gay! But in no way defined by it! But his relationships are still really important to him! There are not enough characters like that)

[identity profile] spuffy-noelle.livejournal.com 2012-03-07 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
I always seem to love all the douche-y-est characters? Should probably seek counseling (oh, wait, I am a counselor).

This Fandom March Madness business is out of control and I have a lot of hard decisions to make.

Happy Endings is between Jane and Brad and I DON'T KNOW WHICH ONE TO PICK :( Probably end up going with Brad though...

New Girl - Schmidt is a douche and I love him for it.

Awkward - Jenna's winning by a long shot, and I love her, but Sadie is the biggest a-hole going and is hysterical on that show.

Boardwalk Empire has such a great cast of characters and I'm debating between Nucky Thompson and Jimmy Darmody.

This is so much fun. LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!

I AM HERE TO GIVE WIRE SUGGESTIONS!

[identity profile] blackfrancine.livejournal.com 2012-03-07 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, I've been watching nothing but the Wire for the last 2 weeks. So, I have some major feelings about it.

Omar is gonna win, hands down. Nothing will change that. And it's fine--he deserves it. But here's some other good characters:

D'Angelo Barksdale
Stringer Bell
Bubbles!
Snoop Pearson

I suggest either Bubbles or Snoop.

Other shows...
New Girl:
Schmidt! No question!

Big Bang Theory:
I voted Bernadette because she's excellent, but she can't beat Sheldon. I don't know who can. Maybe Penny? Or Wallowitz?

Teen Wolf:
Stiles

Always Sunny:
Charlie!
Or Sweet Dee if you prefer a lady

Re: HIMYM,
I FULLY SUPPORT MOVING YOUR VOTE TO ROBIN. ALL THE VOTES SHOULD BE MOVED TO ROBIN. DOWN WITH BARNEY'S REIGN OF TERROR.

I share your tears over Emily Gilmore's inevitable loss. How can more people not love her?

[identity profile] ahigheroctave.livejournal.com 2012-03-07 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Lorelai dominates GG every year. :( And it looks like CJ will be tripping the West Wing again. No fun.

This could be the year for Leslie! I'd say honestly, she'll win comedy hands down since Community and The Big Bang Theory have both won in recent years and the Modern Family fans aren't united enough. Something tells me she might end up against Caroline.

I logged on this morning, saw Donna Noble was winning the DW category, and decided the universe was an alright place to live. SUCH JOY.

I can't not vote for Jane from Happy Endings because I adore her. But Brad is also a good choice.

ERIC TAYLOR, MOLDER OF MEN. I know, he failed in the last season. But still. A Taylor win is a win all around.

Emily :( I voted for her, but I know almost nobody does.
