lirazel: An outdoor scene from the film Picnic at Hanging Rock ([kd] a map of the world)

i sense significantly more kdrama content forthcoming in this blog

+ I watched the first episode of Capital Scandal, and while I liked the fierce little rebel girl school-teacher and definitely want to return to her story at some point, I decided I wasn't quite in the mood for that show right now. So:

+ I am about 15 minutes into City Hunter and my only response thus far is HOW ARE THE PRODUCTION VALUES SO GOOD? Seriously, this is gorgeous and so well-made so far! And it's moving so briskly! Sometimes I have a hard time getting into Kdramas (I tried Capital Scandal like twice before and for some reason I couldn't get pass the first five minutes--same with Coffee Prince, which I know I will watch and love at some point), but this is so attention-sucking, just right away! And it looks like a movie! It reminds me of how much better series 5 of Doctor Who looked than the ones before it. Production values on another level.

+ Happy Endings continues to be the best, and P&R was much better this week! Yay!

+ I just realized I haven't watched an episode of Pan Am since the girls went to Russia. Um...is that still a show? I haven't heard anyone talking about it lately. Did it get bad? Should I catch back up? I had such intense love for it at first and now I'm kind of meh.

I do agree that City Hunter is on another level, production value-wise, and if you're already so enamored with it after 15 minutes, I think you're going to love it a lot. Personally, I thought the first episode was kind of boring (though it helps do away with a ton of exposition later on), but around episode 5-6 it starts to really take off and episodes 7-12 are the best run of kdrama episodes I've ever seen.

If it helps you get inspired for Capital Scandal, it has my favorite secondary female character ever (she could very possibly end up on a top ten list of my favorite female characters of all time). Also, I love the relationship between the male lead/secondary female character.

(Edited because LJ's new icon picker sucks and changed my awesome City Hunter icon to my equally awesome but less apt Aeryn default icon.

Edited again because LJ, YOU SUCK. Ugh, I give up.)

I hope I do love it a lot! Now that the disastrous mission is over, it's slowed down quite a bit, but it's still so pretty look at!

it has my favorite secondary female character ever

Is it the courtesan lady? I've met her, but haven't really gotten to know her yet.

LJ does indeed suck.

I had such intense love for it at first and now I'm kind of meh.
I was so enchanted and marathoned about half of it over one weekend...and then I got kind of meh when the Ted-Amanda-Bridget storylines started kicking in. I still haven't picked it back up.

But I do love those ladies something fierce

YUP! That's exactly when I lost interest too.

But I do love those ladies something fierce

Me, too. I feel like they deserve better than their show, if that makes sense.

I just realized I haven't watched an episode of Pan Am since the girls went to Russia. Um...is that still a show?

Well, season 1 ended. If the Russia ep was the last one you saw, then you only missed 3 episodes (there were 14 total). I don't think it got bad, but its renewal chances are slim, so I've kind of felt detached for a while. No point in getting invested if it's not coming back.

Okay, 3 is catch-up-able. I no doubt will at some point, though I don't feel the pressure to do so now.

No point in getting invested if it's not coming back.

*sigh* So true.

Speaking of which, I just finished a rewatch of The Black Donnellys (my boooooys, my darling Irish boys) and you'd think I'd have known better than to get invested again, but now I am devastated all over again that it got canceled.

So I am making icons.

GAH THAT SHOW.

I haven't watched it since I bought the DVDs originally...I need to do that. I know I'll become invested all over again. OH SHOW! ♥

So I am making icons.

But of course!
