i am SQUEEING
+ First of all, it is absolutely unacceptable that Dean Devlin keeps letting his writers write dialogue that keeps talking about the Donnelly boys. Every time he does it, I am plunged into despairing love for my prematurely cancelled show. Also, the Doctor Who reference was absolutely perfect. Leverage is such geeky love.
+ As happy as I am that Pan Am is back, I have two complaints: 1. the whole Ted/Laura thing. DO NOT WANT. And the way he talked about "virginity" in this episode made me want to take a shower or kill him or both. NOT THE WAY TO WIN US OVER. Laura's line about wanting to respect him and not being able to did make me happy, though. 2. I feel like the bringing Bridget back twist is a cheap dramatic ploy because the writers of the show, like most writers of most shows, do not understand that established relationships can actually be fascinating to watch without the constant threat of breakups or whatever.
But other than that, I was pleased to watch the episode. Colette remains the best person to look at.
+ As for Shameless, I still feel like the show tries too hard to shock and such. But the core characters of the Gallagher kids (minus Carl, who's incredibly underdeveloped and Liam, who is, after all, just a baby) are just so incredibly lovely and I love them all. I have a feeling that Fiona's blonde friend is going to drag her to bad places though, and I don't want that. But Lip telling Ian he would make the West Pointe think happen made me want to WEEP at the brotherly love! Also: GALLAGHER POWERWALK. THAT'S RIGHT. YOU DON'T MESS WITH ONE OF THE GALLAGHERS. Veronica remains awesome, Mandy was there and has aged quite a bit and yet is still the BEST for the two seconds she was in it, and now Kash is gone. Which: leaving your kids? I do not respect that. That is not an okay choice. But I don't mind you being gone. Debbie is wonderful. And I didn't even hate Frank that much this episode! Yay!
+ Y'all, this episode of The Good Wife was so delightful! Diane was BADASS! (As usual! But her standing over Eli and David Lee like they were little boys and she was the adult was just AMAZING! Also, it is such a lovely thing when she flirts! So cute!) Cary was AMAZING! (I was so PROUD of him! Not pettiness at all! Cary, I love you and your smarmy little face!) Eli was POUTY! And also colluding with Kalinda! (Which is my favorite thing ever--if we ever get a spinoff, it should be the adventures of Eli and Kalinda pwning the whole universe, even if no one says pwning anymore.) Alicia doesn't understand how she raised such sarcastic children! ELSPETH WAS BACK! Now that Eli's part of the main cast, Elspeth is my very favorite not-a-member-of-the-main-cast, and I want her to be in every single episode ever. HOW IS SHE SO VERY EXCELLENT? There was minimal Will! (Who is still pretty much the only character I can't stand. Will you please go away, Will?) The only way this episode could have been better is if Owen was in it, but that wouldn't have fit the episode, so I'm okay that he wasn't.
Also, in perusing imdb, I learn that Carrie Preston, who plays Elspeth and who also plays Arlene on True Blood--or maybe just "played," I don't know, because even though I very much liked her character and a lot of the other supporting characters, I haven't watched that show since the end of S2--is married to Michael Emerson, he of Lost fame, which I find delightful.
Anyway, I am now caught up on Sunday night TV, and I am quite happy about it.

Lip and Ian's relationship is my favorite on the show. Lip tries so hard to be a good big brother, and most of the time he succeeds. Fiona's my favorite character, but their relationship is just full of joy for me.

Ha! It's a totally different actress. Jane Levy now has a full-time gig on Suburgatory, so they had to recast the role.

I figured that out after the fact! AND AM VERY DISTRESSED. Mandy was one of my favorites last season, and I just don't know how the character will develop with a different actress.
