I have rediscovered my Damon/Elena feelings. Anybody got any fic recs? Especially longish ones? I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, I now have a craving for a fic where Jeremy's hanging out in his new life and who does he meet but the Winchester brothers! And obviously he gets sucked into their world and becomes a hunter. And eventually they wind up back in Mystic Falls and Dean can't get over his luck: look at all these hot girls! Who should he go after? Elena? Caroline? Bonnie? Yeah. Winchester-y shenanigans in Mystic Falls, y'all.

Either that or a Jeremy and Ric and Elena become hunters together fic. Road trip! Lots of weapons! Their weird little atypical family! Basically the splattered blood on Jeremy's face reminded me of that vampire episode of Supernatural from way back in the day and made me want to see hunter!Jeremy.

And now I can finally get on tumblr without being spoiled and also I can catch up with all of y'all's reaction posts!

It's not easy to find decent Damon/Elena fics, sadly :(. I'll try my best though! Could you give me some hints as to things you love/hate in fanfiction? Also, is Damon/Elena/Stefan a fair game?

Oh, sadness! Really? I assumed because so many people ship them that there'd be some good stuff.

Yeah, I can go for OT3, but really I just like Damon and Elena interacting. It doesn't even have to be explicitly shippy, as long as they're interacting (I especially love them being snarky BFFs and plotting together and such). But other than that, as long as the text treats Elena fairly and doesn't try to exonerate Damon of all of his sins, then I think I'll read anything that's well written? That's really the way I'm most picky: I've stopped reading mediocre fics because I just can't handle it anymore.

I'd greatly appreciate anything you can come up with!

Many people ship it, that's true. And very often I have an impression that most of them really hate Elena. IDK, maybe it's just that I have bad luck, but it seems that half of the fics I come across have Elena suddenly realizing that she wronged Damon so much and all that crap. She doesn't deserve him, she needs to learn not to go behind his back, yaddy yadda yadda. The amount of shameless Elena bashing in fandom really bothers me :(.

Try to check out things from this comment ficathon (I haven't read everything there, but this ficathon should mostly be populated by writers who don't hate Elena), and I'll try to think of something longish :).

Oh, God. It's like Buffy and Spike 2.0. Thank God Spuffy fandom in general seems to have gotten over that. I will not stand for bashing of the lady. Not cool with me.

Like, for a while I went through this period of just thinking I HATE YOU DAMON GO AWAY whenever I saw him. Then recently I rediscovered my affection for him and Elena as snarky BFFs. And now I'm kind of feeling them in a messed-up, not-conventionally-romantic sort of way.

I'm suddenly shipping Dean/Caroline SO hard ... and not for any real reason. Just because I love their faces separately and have decided that they'd be ahmaizing together.

I'm still behind on TVD, but the stuff I like for these two is generally friendshippy, or Stefan/Elena/Damon OT3. I'm not sure of your feelings on Salvatorecest, so I'll leave that for now. Stefan was actually the first person I felt comfortable shipping Damon with, as he was the only one I was completely sure Damon wouldn't actually kill.
