Second: LOVE! I really enjoyed the meta-ness of it and Buffy going through all the ways that Spike is totally not her type (although I admit to being a tad skeptical that she wouldn't find Spike attractive *g* OMG GIRL HAVE YOU SEEN HIM?) and how so much of it aligns with gender expectations. Because of course the girl who falls for Tall, Dark, and Handsome and the All-American Boy would find Spike's femininity disconcerting. (Though, interestingly, she was drawn to Parker because he was ~sensitive and talked about his feelings - not so unlike Spike, actually, except that it was all an act with Parker.)
It's funny, though, how a lot of what makes them work as a couple are all the ways he's not her type? But of course, I don't think Buffy is consciously aware of all the ways she is gender-bendy, so she wouldn't see that Spike's gender-bending matches hers so well. :)
