HELP!

I've been on lj for years but I still don't know the answer to this:

I've uploaded some userpics to a new comm I've made, but when I go to post in it, the only options for userpics are my penny-lane-42 account's. How can I post with my icons?

There should be a drop-down box?

The drop down box just has my main account userpics in it.

...

I honestly can't remember. Sorry.

(And I need to go put the 8 y.o. to bed or I'd hunt through the FAQ.)

Don't worry about it!

Unless LJ's changed something in recent years, you can't. It's a really stupid feature that you can upload multiple icons for a community, but you can only use the default one.

Then what is the point????

Thanks for the info. I thought I was dumb, not able to figure it out.

I'm guessing the communities partially use the same code as journals, and the ability to upload icons is just a left-over piece of code that they haven't bothered to change. Worst thing is, you can even buy extra icons for paid communities even though you can't use them!
