Hello, Yuletide Writer!
Thanks in advance for the story! In my experience, the writing is the most enjoyable part of the Yuletide experience, so I really hope that you have a good time working on the story.
I've included some specific prompts below simply because I know that they can sometimes be helpful, but I will not mind at all if you ignore all of them and go in a different direction that I haven't suggested. The fandoms are listed in my order of preference.
1. 닥치고 꽃미남 밴드 | Shut Up Flower Boy Band - Im Soo Ah, Kim Ye Rim, Kwon Ji Hyuk, Lee Hyun Soo - gen or Ji Hyuk/Soo Ah, Ji Hyuk/Hyun Soo and/or Hyun Soo/Ye Rim
Honestly, I'll be happy with anything involving any combination of these characters. If you want to write a character study of any of them, something shippy for Ji Hyuk/Soo Ah, Ji Hyuk/Hyun Soo and/or Hyun Soo/Ye Rim, or friendship or bonding fic for any combination of these characters, I will be deliriously happy. Or double-date fic, even! Feel free to include any of the other characters from the drama as I love everyone.
A few possibilities just in case you want more guidance:
+ Soo Ah and Ye Rim get to know each other
+ Hyun Soo actually interacts with Soo Ah and decides she isn't that bad (I love grumpy little Hyun Soo, but I want him to appreciate Soo Ah!)
+ AU shippy Ji Hyuk/Hyun Soo fic (I'd like anything shippy about these two as long as there's no cheating and/or bashing of the ladies)
+ Hyun Soo and Ye Rim try to build a relationship while dealing with the demands of idol life
+ Ji Hyuk and Soo Ah get to enjoy being a couple and maybe Soo Ah inspires Ji Hyuk's songwriting and Ji Hyuk inspires Soo Ah's art (anything involving Soo Ah's art would be fantastic)
2. 응답하라 1997 | Answer Me 1997 - Kang Joon Hee, Sung Shi Won, Yoon Yoon Jae - gen or Shi Won/Yoon Jae or Shi Won/Yoon Jae/Joon Hee
I love all three of these characters to distraction, so anything involving any of them in any permutation would be fantastic. I also OT3 ship them hardcore as well as just shipping Shi Woon/Yoon Jae, so if you want to write something shippy, I’d be over the moon. Otherwise friendship fic or a character study or anything at all would make me happy.
Some ideas to possibly inspire you:
+ OT3 fic. Somehow they all end up together. Either we find out that Joon Hee is bisexual or it’s both him and Shi Won in a relationship with Yoon Jae. Just don’t focus on jealousy or competition. I want all three of them to be happy, even if they have to go through hard times first.
+ Grown up Shi Won is still a fangirl. Maybe her daughter turns into one too and they bond over it. Maybe something funny focusing on Yoon Jae being exasperated with having to put up with her fangirl-ness (as long as you don’t mock her, really—I love how much the show loved her fangirl heart).
+ A fic about Joon Hee and his many sisters, especially his twin. I’m fascinated by her, even if all we get is a mere mention of her.
+ Joon Hee babysits Shi Won and Yoon Jae’s daughter.
+ Friendship fic with the three of them bonding.
3. 화이트 크리스마스 | White Christmas (2011) - Choi Ji Hoon, Kang Mi Reu, Lee Jae Kyu - gen or Ji Hoon/Mi Reu or Ji Hoon/Jae Kyu
The born geniuses and Jae Kyu are my babies in this fandom. I would be happy with something focusing on any of the three or a fic involving any permutation of the three of them.
Prompts:
+ Any of them dealing with the aftermath of what happened over that Christmas break. Bonus points of they and the rest of the (alive) cast still interact with each other.
+ Jae Kyu accidentally becomes friends with Ji Hoon. Only Ji Hoon has never had a friend before, so he’s not very good at it. Inept-at-friendship!Ji Hoon would make my life. If this turns shippy, all the better.
+ Anything involving Ji Hoon and Mi Reu learning to respect each other. Mi Reu hints at really hating Ji Hoon, and I think that would be really interesting to explore, especially if it ends up with them learning respect.
+ An AU within the show where things take a turn and any of these three have to team up together to save the day
4. 인현황후의 남자 | Inhyeonhwanghu-ui Namja | Queen In Hyun's Man - Choi Hee Jin, Kim Boong Do - gen or Boon Do/Hee Jin
Best romantic television show I've ever seen! Really anything involving these two, preferably shippy, but gen is fine, as long as you don't ship either one of them with someone else.
Here are some possibilities:
+ Fic set during the time when they don't remember each other, focusing on how they know that something is missing.
+ Missing scene fic, with Boong Do trying to figure out some modern convenience, with or without Hee Jin's giggling help. (The possibilities are endless.)
+ Hee Jin teaches Boong Do the use of [fill in object here] and--shocker--it's just like the use of a car or a tie. Boong Do likes it because it's lustful and very good.
+ Post-show fic where they settle down (married fic would make life) and Boong Do becomes a scholar or a university student or something involving his historical knowledge.
+ Fic where they get transported back to Boong Do's time. (But they end up back in the modern period because I'm not sure how long Hee Jin could last there.)
+ Flip-it-fic where instead of Boong Do coming to the modern world, Hee Jin ends up in his time.
+ If you want to go with something unique, perhaps a fic wherein a future historian researches Boong Do and what happened to him and the woman he wrote the letter to and stumbles upon their story.
5. 학교 | School (2013) - Lee Kangjoo, Song Hakyung, Go Namsoon, Park Heungsoo, - gen or Namsoon/Heungsoo or Namsoon/Hakyung
This show had such fantastic friendships, and these four are my favorite. I’d love most something with all four of them, but, again: I’m happy with any permutation. Namsoon and Heungsoo are so married it’s ridiculous, so shippy fic with them would be great, but so would Namsoon/Hakyung. I’d kind of prefer not to read something set before the show, but that’s not set in stone; if that’s what you want to write, that’s okay. Just if you want some guidance, something set during the time of the show or post-show would be my preference.
Some ideas to get you started:
+ Hakyung and Kangjoo go to university together and discover that they really love it—even if they still like each other better.
+ Namsoon and Heungsoo figure out that they’re in love (duh). Bonus points if this involves some really realistic exploration of what it might be like to be in a gay relationship in Korea now (but this part isn’t a requirement).
+ Anything involving Namsoon and Hakyung working together and respecting each other. Maybe being each other’s’ confidants? With Hakyung being prickly and not really enjoying vulnerability but trusting Namsoon all the same.
For all fandoms:
Feel free to bring in any other characters from any of these fandoms. I'm fine with pretty much any genre, though a tone/mood that matches that of the original text is ideal. AUs are fine, though preferably no crack unless it's the apocalypse—I do love post-apocalyptic fic (White Christmas would make for awesome post-apocalyptic fic, I’m just saying). Please no character bashing of any characters at all.
I really like both shippy and gen stuff, and my absolute favorite thing in the world is strong characterization. I’m open on what kind of situations you put the characters in, so long as they’re true to themselves. I like plotty stuff and character studies, beautiful prose and experimental stuff, silly shenanigans and quiet moments—basically I'll follow you anywhere as long as the characters are real. If you keep that in mind, I have no doubt that you'll produce something I'll love.
I'm not a fan of too much smut--exploring sex or how it affects a relationship is fine with me for any of the fandoms, but please focus on the emotions, not the explicit physicality. And if you do go the romance direction, know that what I love most of all is people showing love in ways other than the words "I love you." Of course I'm not adverse to them using the l word, I just really like when there's some actions there to back it up.
For some lengthy and much more specific insights into things that really do it for me in fic and things that don't, you can head over to this mess of a post, though you can certainly ignore that if you wish.

I'm pretty good! Nothing really exciting happening with me, but that's okay. I say that--OGS is definitely exciting! I think the ticket is pretty good--I think it's also going to depend on when we get there and what seat we can snag. Thank you!
It is a bit like mine, yeah! And I do too! I didn't when I was younger, but now I love it lots. Of course I also love beautiful straight hair and wavy hair and whatever kind of hair. Hair is pretty great.
