yuletide: dear author letter
Hello, Yuletide Writer!
Thanks in advance for the story! In my experience, the writing is the most enjoyable part of the Yuletide experience, so I really hope that you have a good time working on the story.
I've included some specific prompts below simply because I know that they can sometimes be helpful, but I will not mind at all if you ignore all of them and go in a different direction that I haven't suggested.
1) Dakchigo Kkotminam Band | Shut Up Flower Boy Band - gen or Jihyuk/Sooah, Jihyuk/Hyunsoo and/or Hyunsoo/Yerim
Honestly, I'll be happy with anything involving any combination of these characters. If you want to write a character study of any of them, something shippy for Jihyuk/Sooah, Jihyuk/Hyunsoo or Hyunsoo/Yerim, or friendship or bonding fic for any combination of these characters, I will be deliriously happy. Or double-date fic, even! Feel free to include any of the other characters from the drama as I love everyone.
A few possibilities just in case you want more guidance:
+ Sooah and Yerim get to know each other
+ Hyunsoo actually interacts with Sooah and decides she isn't that bad (I love grumpy little Hyunsoo, but I want him to appreciate Sooah!)
+ AU shippy Jihyuk/Hyunsoo fic (I'd like anything shippy about these two as long as there's no cheating and/or bashing of the ladies)
+ Hyunsoo and Yerim try to build a relationship while dealing with the demands of idol life
+ Jihyuk and Sooah get to enjoy being a couple and maybe Sooah inspires Jihyuk's songwriting and Jihyuk inspires Sooah's art (anything involving Sooah's art would be fantastic)
2) The Thin Man - gen or Nick/Nora
I grew up on these movies, and Nick and Nora are my all-time OTP. Anything that involves them being witty and sparkling and silly and drunk and sophisticated and in love will make me happy. I just want Nick and Nora fic, okay? It totally doesn't matter what--domestic silliness, a fic about their first meeting/courtship, case fic, anything at all. I just love how much they love each other and how much fun they have together, and anything that portrays that will be great.
Some ideas to possibly inspire you:
+ Nick and Nora meet! Shenanigans and falling in love ensue
+ Nick and Nora try to balance parenthood with sleuthingand drinking
+ Case fic--preferably ending with all the suspects in a room talking until one of them slips, as we see in the films
+ Nick throws a crazy party with his crazy friends and he and Nora banter their way through it
+ Dinner with Nora's family! Always fun!
3) 19 (2009) - gen friendship or Cha Eun-Young/Park Min-Seo/Seo Jung-Hoon
My main plea for this fandom is please don't turn this into an excuse for Big Bang real person fic. I really, really want Eun Young to be involved in this fic, please. I'd prefer either friendship fic about all three of them or OT3 shippy fic about all three of them together, but please don't just write the boys and leave Eun Young out--that's the one thing that won't make me happy. Basically this movie is all about the friendship between all three of them, so while I wouldn't mind a character study of just one of them (though preferably Eun Young or possibly Min Seo), what would make me most happy is fic involving all three.

+ They stay on the run. Maybe it ends with them dying together, like they thought about doing. Just as long as they're together, I don't care.
+ The three of them get to know each other back in the real world. Maybe they find it difficult, but they can't let go of each other after what they've been through.
+ They never figure out who committed the murder and one (or more) of them ends up in jail but they try to keep in touch despite this.
+ Missing scenes in the movie involving them bonding and/or falling in love
+ AU wherein they meet in some other way but become close despite that
Feel free to bring in any other characters from any of these fandoms. I'm fine with pretty much any genre, though a tone/mood that matches that of the original text is ideal. AUS are fine, though preferably no crack unless it's the apocalypse--I do love post-apocalyptic fic. Please no character bashing of any characters at all.
I really like both shippy and gen stuff, and my absolute favorite thing in the world is strong characterization. I’m open on what kind of situations you put the characters in, so long as they’re true to themselves. I like plotty stuff and character studies, beautiful prose and experimental stuff, silly shenanigans and quiet moments--basically I'll follow you anywhere as long as the characters are real. If you keep that in mind, I have no doubt that you'll produce something I'll love.
I'm not a fan of too much smut--exploring sex or how it affects a relationship is fine with me for any of the fandoms, but please focus on the emotions, not the explicit physicality. And if you do go the romance direction, know that what I love most of all is people showing love in ways other than the words "I love you." Of course I'm not adverse to them using the l word, I just really like when there's some actions there to back it up.
