lirazel: An outdoor scene from the film Picnic at Hanging Rock ([tv] confession)

hahahahaha, y'all!

My Seasonal Spuffy day is so soon and I'd totally forgotten about it, what with being sick and all. I feel like I should probably be panicked or something, but since I usually end up writing mine the night before anyway, I'm kind of just terribly amused with myself because I always do this.

I should get on that, though. At least this is total and complete id!fic so I don't have to take it as seriously as I sometimes do. (Lies. I never take this seriously. But sometimes I at least pretend to and this time I'm not even going there.)

A few brief things that are about TV because we all know that my life is pretty much all about television:

+ Of course I continue to have ALL THE FEELINGS about this show, so many feelings that I don't even want to get into it all (I'm actually really liking O'Brien! I have actual positive feelings towards Thomas, which I never, ever thought would happen! I am fangirling Lady Mary liek woah this season!). But I did want to say one thing:

EDITH CRAWLEY WHY DO YOU MAKE IT SO HARD TO LOVE YOU? Like, I was really liking her! With the deciding to learn to drive and do something useful and acting like an actual person! Like, I've always had a bit of sympathy for her, because it's gotta suck being the "ugly" sister, not to mention the middle one, and that's super sad and everything. Really, it is. But what she did to Mary last season was AWFUL so I had all this anger towards her. But then this season she seemed so much better! And I was all set to fangirl her and everything! BUT! Then TWO things happened last night that just drove me crazy: 1) When Carson had his attack of whatever and she was all BUT WHAT ABOUT MY DRESS? Seriously, though? and 2) making out with the married guy? I just hate that. I know that the blame is always with the person who is in a committed relationship, but I still think it's a really shitty thing to get involved with someone you know is cheating. I have the ultimate cheating!squick so this displeased me greatly.

Anyway, that's all I'm going to say about that right now. Step it up, Edith. I really want to like you.

+ Lil Sis (who's in Costa Rica for the semester, did I mention that? I miss her soooooooo) and I were Skypeing the other night and she's managed to keep up with Vampire Diaries since she's been gone and her main thoughts at this point are: WHERE IS BONNIE? THIS IS NOT COOL. BRING HER BAAAACK. Sometimes she has the best taste. Clearly, those are my main thoughts, too. Also, we both saw the reveal at the end of the last episode coming. Still, nice bit of casting there (HELLO HRG! I HAVE MISSED YOU!).

+ Parks and Rec continues to be beyond flawless, so much so that I can't even put it into words and I won't even try except to say that if you still aren't watching this show, you are missing out on by far the most delightful show on television. Also, it is officially official: Ben Wyatt is the perfect man and if he were real I would marry him in two seconds flat.

+ The last two Doctor Who episodes have made me deliriously happy. I have ALL THE FEELINGS about "The God Complex" in particular, but I won't even try to put them into words. I'm sure [livejournal.com profile] elisi's done a better job anyway, I just haven't gotten around to reading her thoughts yet. WELL DONE, SHOW. Also, I would like to request an entire show about Eleven hanging out with babies and children because it is the actual BEST.

+ I would not still be watching Ringer if it weren't for Smidge's flawless face. I just have so much affection for her that whenever she's onscreen I just want to burst with happiness. I hope the writing improves--I thought the second episode was better than the pilot, so hopefully it'll keep with that. But mostly I'm just annoyed that all of these people are so very terrible. And not in a fun Fanged Four/half the characters on Game of Thrones/The Operative kind of way. But in a straight-up "you are unpleasant to be around please go away" sort of way. I guess if you're gonna be terrible, I at least want you to have a little bit of glee in your terribleness? When people are terrible and also just sort of bland, I have no interest.

+ I kind of felt like Community was a little weird? Maybe it was because I watched it on the TV and apparently I don't need to do that anymore. BUT. The Abed stuff was so incredibly, incredibly perfect that I'm going to rewatch the episode soon.

+ I'm glad Modern Family is back, even if I feel it's a bit overrated? Like, I'm a bit bitter about it taking over its categories at the Emmys, even though I try not to let myself have feelings about the Emmys because they always fail (except when they're giving awards to Kyle Chandler/Downton Abbey/Margo Martindale. Then they win). However, I will never, ever say no to Phil Dunphy on my screen (I do think he absolutely deserved his award) and also Claire and Dylan interacting is my favorite thing, so.

+ Is that all I'm watching right now? Except for having a massive Friday Night Lights rewatch? I'll probably post about that at some point.

+ OH! If anybody has a link to the Misfits mini episode thingie about what happens to Nathan, can you please link me? I'd appreciate it greatly!

Seriously, where is Bonnie Bennett? The last time we saw her, her face was in a device. :| Come now.

Ugh. So depressed over Nathan.

Yay! You're back! How's your tummy feeling?

+ YOU ARE MY THE QUEEN OF LAST MINUTE SEASONAL_SPUFFY FIC. You pull it off every time, don't start doubting yourself now!

+ Loving this season of TVD so far, minus the Bonnie missage. I now have Alaric/Elena/Damon as an official OT3. Kat Graham Bonnie's off being a pop star. I miss her. So does Jeremy. I'm demanding a grand, badass re-entrance!

+ My response to Downton Abbey:

Photobucket

+ Parks and Rec made me laugh and cry. And I am in love with Andy/April. And I've decided that I'll avoid political talk with my daddy by stating clearly that I'm voting Leslie Knope for President or not voting at all. Then I'll secretly vote for Obama.

+ Doctor Who has been another MY EMOTIONS show. The feelings this show inflicts on me are strong and varied. I cannot wait until "The marriage of River Song". Other British TV you should check out: The Fades. Natalie Dormer supernatural thriller.

+ I'm giving Ringer 10 episodes to make me like it. I usually give shows five episodes, but SMG gets ten. And the people are really unlikeable and unrelatable. I'm warming to Bridget, because she took care of Juliet, but I'm really just watching out of SMG loyalty.

+ Community was uneven, but it had a few great lines, like the Cougarton Abbey and the Inspector Spacetime shout outs.

+ I've decided I'm a DVD watcher for Modern Family and How I Met Your Mother. Whenever they're on sale for cheap, I'm getting them, but I'm not worrying about catching them when they air.

+ NATHAN!!! *cries with missage*

The funny thing is, Thomas is one of the main reasons I'm still watching. I'm fond enough of the upstairs characters, but . . . idk, I feel like the show puts WAY too much emphasis on them and how hard it is to be rich and privileged when I'm much more interested in the downstairs people, and I wish they'd get more in the way of storylines. And historical gay narratives are my FAVOURITES- I guess I over-identify- so his is one of the stories I'm most invested in. I swear, if he doesn't get a proper love interest before the season's out (who doesn't DIE before they even get beyond KNEE TOUCHING for god's sake) I'll be so annoyed.

Edith's actually growing on me! I think her relationship with the farmer grows from the feeling that she's important and wanted for the first time in her life, but yeah, she's not going the right way about it at all. Poor Edith, always making the worst decisions. :/

Oh Edith. Too many feelings. Like, I find her sympathetic and awful in turns? She's so, so hard to like as a person but I'm always fascinated by her storylines.

Totally agree with you with regards to the lack of Bonnie on TVD and the utter flawlessness of P&R.

Ugh terrible-and-bland is the worst. I think being boring is a much greater sin for a fictional character to commit than being a jackass. And even though I frequently like characters who are The Worst there are certain kinds of characters that just rub me the wrong way - douchebags, self-righteous jackholes, etc.

I totally saw the HRG reveal coming too. The casting is pretty hilarious when I consider the Heroes people in The Secret Circle - Thomas Dekker (Zach from season 1) and the lady who played Claire's mom (the adoptive mom). She plays the lead character's grandmother, which is a little weird since she's only 50. (But then Bonnie's Gram's actress is 49 THIS year, so. And the lead is at least a result of teen pregnancy.) Britt Robertson was really looking like Hayden to me last episode, which was distracting in her scenes with Thomas Dekker. ZACH YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE GAY!

I'm hoping Cristine Rose (Angela Petrelli) shows up all badass soon. (...and she just turned 60 this year! Oh television land.)
