Yeah, I agree with you. (Well, except for that Damon doesn't feel bad; he feels guilt--if he wants to, it's there. He's getting "better", but he's still not *good*. If people don't want him to or think he should be redeemed, that's obviously fine. Likewise, it's fine if people are rooting for him to redeem himself.) I can't say that I find woobifying psychotic serial killers particularly constructive; however, there's a real difference between woobifying and *identifying/sympathising*. You (the general you) can do the latter without verging into the former, and you should be able to do so without apologising for the fact that you identify/sympathise with a psychotic serial killer. What does it say about you as a person? Nothing. It says nothing. There's no accounting for sympathy.

Having said that, I usually wind up having to give a WIDE BERTH to fandom (to avoid the romanticising/woobifying too), and I've also invested in several "serial killer lover" t-shirts for myself and my friends. :)
