i think i might be losing my mind?
Okay, so I SWEAR that a few months(?) back I saw a preview for a movie about making a television show, and it starred David Duchovny and Fran Kranz and I think some other awesome people that I can't remember right now? And I saw the trailer and got all excited because it looked right up my alley? And the I never heard another thing about it again? DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT? This is an actual thing that existed, correct? I did not dream this up?

I am gratified to know I didn't dream that. It wouldn't have been the weirdest thing I ever dreamed, by a longshot, but it is still comforting to know it actually exists.

Right? From Sigourney Weaver to Willie Garson and MC Gainey! That is an interesting cast.
So, this give me the perfect opening to ask how the X-Files watching is going! What season are you in? What have been your favorite episodes so far?

Of course I like the more mytharc episodes than the MotW ones. Honestly, I've sometimes gotten hung up on an episode and it takes me a while to get past it? Which is what's taking me so long to watch it, I guess. But I do love it very, very much, mostly because Scully and Mulder and Skinner, etc. are just such ridiculously awesome characters.

And looking at an episode guide, I see that the next episode is "Paper Hearts", which is OMG excellent. S4 is a bizarre mixture of amazingly awesome episodes and totally forgettable episodes. Without being spoilery, I can tell you you've got some huuuge mytharc stuff coming up very soon.
ETA: I'm sorry, I'm editing because the episode guide I was looking at listed the eps in production order, not the order they aired in. So, "Paper Hearts" is still a couple of episodes away, and new mytharc stuff is coming right up!

"! I don't think we're meant to take it all seriously, particularly the Super Bowl and Oscar rigging
I can see that, it was just sort of confusing for me because the tone of the episode was very serious? I don't know. I need to watch that scene again, I think.
I am excited about what's up next! I've taken off TV-watching this week so I can get caught up on ASoIaF before the new book comes out, but after that, I will be diving back into the show again--I've missed it!

But The TV Set might as well be about a Joss Whedon show, lol, with the writer going crazy with all the network interference. My favorite thing is that everyone calls it a satire because it's so OTT, but the writer/director claims it's not meant to be - it's actually how he thinks the industry operates. That is to say, yes, Lauren, I think you will greatly enjoy it. :)
