lirazel: An outdoor scene from the film Picnic at Hanging Rock ([sk] ballerina butterfly)

i have just finished this week's Skins...

and obviously it gave me ALL THE FEELINGS! THAT LAST SCENE. DYING OF LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE.

But I can't even start talking about it because I'm too ~overwhelmed by emotion~ so I just want to say this one thing:

It would be tons, tons ballsier if the writers actually have Rich and Grace go through with the wedding. Because weddings are nearly always stopped in things nowadays--think of Xander and Anya and how far ahead did you see that coming? It's always like that on TV shows, so much so that I kind of gasped out loud when Amy and Rory ACTUALLY GOT MARRIED.

I feel the same way about Rich and Grace. I'm totally, totally not expecting them to go through with it, but I think it would be genuinely "edgy" if they did and then showed what marriage would be like for these two kids at this point in their lives, because kids do that and it's hard, but sometimes it can work, and it would be fascinating to see how the show handled it.

But I really, really, really doubt they'll go through with it.

Also Grace remains my favorite ever, ever, ever and the way Rich looks at her makes me want to die of love. If I were in charge of the universe I would have a channel that was on 24/7 of boys in love looking at the people they love. FAAAAAAAAAAAAACES.

*hides eyes from spoilers* So gen 3 is pretty good, huh? I kinda gave up after gen 1.

For me, it still doesn't compare to Gen 1 in any way (and I never watched Gen 2), but some people love it even more. And there are a couple of characters I'm crazy about and all the rest are really realistically done as well. It's also been really well-constructed this season, generally speaking, and it looks absolutely gorgeous. It's probably worth checking out, I'd say. :D

Huh; I'm kind of figuring they'll go through with it, because it makes sense in terms of having a big dramatic end for Gen 3's first series and creating a set-up for some drama-llama tension next series. Teen marriage is an issue they haven't covered yet, and Skins is nothing if not about its issues - plus, I've been a bit surprised that no one's yet moved out of their parents' house (as is the Skinsy way of making stories easier to construct)... But I don't know!
